SPECIAL MEETING COUNCIL CHAMBER JUNE 10, 1948.
CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 3:00 o'clock P.M., Honorable Mayor
V1. A. Nelson, presiding.
ROLL CALL: By Clerk, Councilmen present were John Beck, Art Glasow, Jr., Charles
Grigg, A. T. Hostetter, H. G. Lake, T. G. Overlie and C, R. Wallis. D. VU. Zent,
City Attorney was also present.
GRAVEL PIT:: Obtaining gravel from Harold Blanton's gravel pit at
Ainsworth and South 4th Street to assist in making fill and road bed at South
approach of the Columbia River Bridge, was discussed.
.A restraining order against the Central Sand and Gravel and Harold
Blanton of long standing prevents the release of gravel at this time.
Mr. Moulton, Attorney for the Central Sand & Gravel, requested that the
restraining order be lifted.and. sill td dit;41i9:§ed. ".tD rWej�7ent tCi ty Attorney stated
he was willing to draw up a release for this emergency Vproviding plans and
Bond for future development are presented to.the.Council June 15th, 1948 for
approval.
Amount of gravel to be used for this emergency was not itemized,
In conclusion Mr. Moulton, Mr. Zent, Mr. Blanton, and Mr. Martin left
for Mr. Zent's office to draw up temporary release.
This action was agreed-upon unanimously by the Council.
ADJOURNMENT:
Motion made by Lake, seconded by Overlie that the meeting adjourn to
Tuesday, 8:00 o'clock P. M. June 15th, 1948; motion carried.
