HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-05-1947 Minutes1372 PASCO, WASHINGTON RECESSED MEETING COUNCIL CHAMBER SEPTEMBER 52 1947 CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called'to order at 6:25 o'clock P.N., by Honorable Mayor Pro -tem A.T. Hostetter. ROLL CALL: By clerk, councilmen present were John Beck, Art Glasow Jr., A.T. Hostetter, H.G. Lake, T -.G. Overlie and C.R. Wallis, Chas. Grigg arrived at 7:40 P.M., Mayor Nelson arrived at 7:35 P.M., City'Attorney D.W. Zent was 'absent. TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR 1948: Work was continued on the budget, the Street, Swimming Pool and Recreation Departments were discussed at length without maintaining a balance, motion made by Hostetter that the Recreation Center be closed three (3) months of the year.. Director to recommend the months, two leaders to be removed from the staff. motion was withdrawn recreation committee to suggest where reductioncan be made, Director Benson to take this up with Committee. Budget not balanced by approximately $66,000.00. 1 STREET AND ALLEY OILING: Street Committee recommend alley behind Potlatch yards, U.S. Laundry, Averys and Griggs, be oiled, motion made by Grigg that this recommendation be accepted, seconded by Overlie, carried by roll call vote of six (6). I BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATIONS: An application presented by T.D. Morrison, 729 W. Nixon-Regrigeration contracting and repairing; Leo V. Arehart, used car and sales lot -10th & Ainsworth; application approved except no repairs on location for Mr. Morrison. ORDINANCE NO. 607: AN ORDINANCE MAKING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF LEWIS STREET AND 10TH STREET AND THE ADJOINING PROPERTY A ZONE C-1 COIAMERCIAL DISTRICT; AND FIXING THE DISTANCE BACK FROM PROPERTY LINE FOR BUILDINGS AND REPEALING ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. Motion made.by Lake seconded by Overlie that ordinance No. 607 be given the first reading, motion carried, Ordinance No. 607 was read, motion made by Lake seconded by Beck that Ordinance No. 607 has been given the 1st reading, motion carried, motion made by Overlie seconded by Lake that Ordinance No. 607 be given the second reading by.title only, motion carried. Ordinance No. 607 was read by title, motion made by Beck seconded by Lake that Ordinance No. 607 has been given the second reading by title, motion carried.
