HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-16-1947 MinutesPASCO, WASHINGTUN 1353 RECESSED MEETING COUNCIL CHAMBER JULY 16, 1947 CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 4:15 o'clock P.M., Honorable Mayor Walter. Nelson presiding. r. ROLL CALL: `by clerk, councilmen present were Join Beck, Art Glasow Jr., Chas. Grigg, A.T.-Hostetter, H.G. Lake and T.G. Overlie, C.R. Wallis was absent, City Attorney D.VJ. Zent was present. BIDS ON STREET SURFACING: Four -bids were received a nd reviewed, IVIcAteeand Heathe submitted the lowest bid, after due consideration motion was made by Glasow seconded by Overlie to accept I1IcAtee & Heathes bid in the amount of '{11,955.68, motion carried by roll call vote .of six (6), Engineer Harold. Blanton to contact IIcAtee and heathe regarding contract, motion made by Beck that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract with McAtee a Heathe, notion seconded by Grigg, carried so ordered. GRAVEL FOR STREET SURFACE: Motion made by Grigg seconded by Glasow authorizing Brickey to purchase 450 yards 3/4 x,. minus gravel not to acceed 1.10 per yard, motion seconded by Glasow carried by roll c all vote of six ( 6) . CEME'T'ERY LATERAL:. motion made by Beck that Sexton be authorized to purchase additional lateral for over head sprinkling system providing there is sufficient funds in the budget, motion carried by roll call vote of six (6). PARKING METERS: The parking meter bid of the Duncan Meter Corporation was reviewed motion made by Glasow to accept 32 meters of the Luncan Meter Corps bid, motion died for want of a second, purchasing number of meters to reconcile budget was discussed, decissi6nn to be made at & latter date. NAVAL AIR STATION (LEASE): A lease received this date was discussed with the advisory committee and manager, City Attorney presented a list of items to be considered. and understood clearly before contract is signed. The Fire unit a Seagraves truck mould need a crew of 4 men, maintenance men, could help when needed , City Water Department to check water installation. Power situation to be worked out later", motion made by Grigg seconded by Beck that Mayor be authorized to sign lease for Naval Airfield with cooperation of the advisory committee, motion carried by roll callvote of six (6), Mayor Nelson, tired Huber, Chas. Grig- and Robert Skill to go to Seattle early July 17th to clarify some parts of the ]e ase and have an understanding on items that are doubtful this was in agreement with all members, City At6orney to prepare an emergency Ordinance, Naval,"ir Station operating funds by August 5th. C.R.WALLIS: Should be present at the next regular meeting to vote on Emergency Ordinance, motion made by Beck to wire C.R. Vallis that "extending his requested leave to August 5th opening of meeting time", motion seconded by Glasow, and carried.
