ROLL CALL: By clerk, councilmen present were John Beck, R.J. Larson, D;F. Rodkey, and C.R. Wallis absent were Karl W. Casey, Chas. Diemond and Walter Nelson , also City Attorney D'. W. Zent . ORDINANCE NUMBER 559: 1946 BUDGET No one was present to be heard in response to notice of Public Hearing to be held at this time and place. In giving Ordinance 559 the third reading motion was made by Beck seconded by Rodkey to transfer $250.00 from the Planning Commission expense to purchase of property, motion carried so ordered; motion was made by Rodkey seconded by Larson to transfer $300.00 from meals for prisoners to gas, oil and car expense in the Police Department, motion carried so ordered. Police Chief expressed himself as not being satisfied with the cut in the tentative budget and feels that the dual a.ervice of three clerks between the Police and Fire department would not work out well, but decided to give it a trial. In considering Lyle Cooney for Fire Chief it was brought out that he also drives school bus. Cooney was present and requested that the amount of $2700.00 as stipulated in the budget be raised to $3,000.00, motion made by Beck seconded by Larson to transfer$50.00 from salary of Volunteer Fireman and $250.00 from gas, oil, and repairs to make the Fire Chiefs salary for 1946 $3,000.00, motion carried so ordered. Motion made by Rodkey seconded by Beck that Ordinance Number 559 has been given the third reading, motion carried, motion made by Rodkey seconded by Beck that Ord- inance number 559 be adopted, motion carried by roll call vote of four.
