HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-20-1945 Minutes1992 URNED MEETING CALL TO ORDER: PASCO, WASHINGTON COMMITTEE ROOM JUNE 200 1945 Meeting called to order at seven fifty P.M., Honorable Mayor M.J. Lindemann presiding. ROLL CALL: By clerk, councilmen present, John Beck, Chas. Diemond, V.F. Marshall, Walter Nelson, D.F. Rodkey and C,R, Wallis, councilman Karl Casey was absent, City Attorney D.W. Zent was present. SWIMMING POOL BIDS: Mr. Bintz reports extensions on Swimming Pool bids as follows and advises that all I t, bids be rejected: Y J.K. Sandusky Yakima, Washington General Contractor Bid 36,264.,00 Northwest Filter Co. Seattle, Washington Filter Bid 71685.100 Roberts Filter Co.' Darby, Penn. Filters Bid 8,725-.00 Pasco Plumbing & Heating Co. Pasco, Washington Plumbing Bid 79361.:00 L.R.-Bailey Kennewick, Wash. Plumbing Bid 95300..00 Motion made by Diemond seconded by Wallis that the Engineers recommendation be accepted, also that all plans and specifications be returned to Mr. Bintz with the exception of one set which will be retained for our files, motion carried so ordered. It was decided that bids should be reopened the first of the year. Mr. Bintz thought a good idea would be to open bids on a Wednesday, this would give him more time with contractors and he could arrange to arrive on Monday. Returning deposit and certified checks was requested by clerk, motion made by Diemond seconded by Rodkey authorizing City Clerk to return checks and deposits, motion carried so ordered. EAST SIDE SEWER LATERALS: A letter was read from Mr. Cohn, Engineer for Matt Malaspina and Company submitting figures on lateral extensions in Pasco. Land"Cot's first Addition. THE SEWER COMMITTEE thought his estimates were high and recommend that the engineers estimates plus ten per cent (10%) be submitted to Matt Malaspina, Rodkey to contact Mr. Cohn and City Clerk to write the main office. Motion made by Rodkey seconded by Liemond to make offer the contract to construct two laterals ET -13 and ET -14 at unit price with additional ten per cent (10%) to Engineers estimate, motion carried by roll call vote of six. MR. GILL WANTS AN ADDITIONAL RISER: Sewer committee reports Gill want an additional riser for sewer connection to serve his cabin location, this installation would cost fifty dollars (50.00); Gill to be so advised. LICENSE FOR GEORGE S. JOHNSTON: George S. Johnston of Richland"Y" is making a request to sell a product called B-1 to be taken with breakfast food or otherwise, wishes to stock stores. He obtains this from a mill in Pendleton and resacks it. Suggested by Beck that his license be set at twelve fifty ($12.50), this met the approval of the council. RESOLUTION NUMBER 240: WHEREAS th Grange has applied to the City Council of the City of Pasco, for per- mission to lay and install a concrete slab in the alley back of their property at 323 South Main Street, in the City of Pasco, for the purpose of using the same for a platform or base for washing cars. Was read, motion made by Rodkey seconded by Diemond to adopt Resolution number 240, motion carried by roll call vote of four. RESOLUTION NUMBER 241: WHEREAS, application has bee migQ to the City Council of the City of Pasco, for a waiver of that portion of thu ing ordinance requiring all sewer pipes and con- nection tobe of cast iron, and allowing connections to be made with concrete or other than cast iron pipe for the reason that cast iron pipe is not immediately available and immediate connections with the sewer are desired as new houses are under construction. making it necessary to make a $500.00 deposit. Was read, motion made by Rodkey seconded by Diemond to adopt Resolution number 241, motion carried by roll call vote of four. 1093 PASCO, VVf:�SHINGTON ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Marshall seconded by Beck that meeting mdjourn untill next regular meeting July 3, 1945.
