PETITION AGAINST CLOSING ALLEYS:
A petition was read protesting against the closing of the alley from Third to
.Fifth between Lewis and Clark petition signed by twenty four tax ra.yers TIotion
made by Rodkey that no streets or alleys be closed., a. discussion Followed,
-potion died for the want of a second. It was so moved. by T,iemond that Plleys
be closed in the business district of Pasco, motion seconded by Teck and
carried so ordered..
SATlpVT�?IING POOL REPORT:
Mr. Booth acting chairman of the Swimming Fool Special Committee turned in a
report which was read, attached was a sketch of the property envolved in the
` Neelg4ZIlon Park plans. Blocks 1' 14, 151 & 15 Helms Second Addition to
Pasco. -Blocks 1' & 15 are entirely clear and ready to turn over, to the city.( Vo
Several architects and engineers were contacted, 7r. Wesley PIntz of�Ransing
Michigan was recommended to prepare plans and specifications for his pa.tentcd
70' x 105' ovoid pools with 8' x 2.0' wading pool also that a full time
concrete specialist be employed as inspector during the major construction.
Negotiations to continue for Savage property which is the part remaining un-
cleared. P?otion made by Marshall that a, special meeting of the council with I
the Swimming Pool S?pecial Committee be held within the next two or three weeks
for working out final plans. Motion seconded by Diemond, carried so ordered,
T,2eeting to be called by the Mayor through Mr. Booth.
PENCE AT ?rd & COLUMBIA 8' HIC,H:
Tred Huber requests permission to erect an eight foot corogated fence around
his Auto `Vrechage lots at Ird & Columbia. Motion made by Fleck seconded by
Diemond to grant this permission consulting the Building Ordinance with City
Attorney was suggested by Marshall. Beck withdr.g-T7 his motion and ??iemond with-
drew the second: The Building Committee to investigate and report T,:iesday
February 11th so moved Diemond seconded by Nelson, carried so ordered.
REPAIR SHOP BY PETERSON:
sir. K.C. Peterson personally requested peroission to onerate a repair shoe for
auto motors, lawn mowers, and electric appliances in fli'"ax Townes garage at-]''

EAST SIDE S -VIER PROJECT:
Pis. Livingston Case, p:"r. Lake and others were present in the interest of the
East side Sewer. They were informed that the Man Power Comrli.ssi.on and priority
app licationwere holding up the call for bids. Mr. Diemond offered to sponsor
his own expense and make a trip to Spokane and contact the T --?an Power.
Commission, John Beck and Mr. Lake to accompany r,1r. Diemond.
SHARE THE RIDE SHELTERS:
Shelters constructed at the expense of the Labor Commission and placed near
the City Limits on the three highways last Summer for Service men. Two
of these are seldom used on account of their locations, TRr. Knarr su&gested
that the one on Tenth be moved up near the Telephone Pui-lding and the one on
East Lewis be placed on Lewis between second and third on curb in front of
the Trailer Sales lot, front side to be madelev el by resting on blocks, they
are about 6' x 8' and accomodate approximately twelve persons seated, and are
marked with "Share the Ride" reflectors, they would be,kept clean by the city.
The one located near the Air Base is used constantly. Committee planning on
going to Spokane is asked to note where these shelters are located, etc. and
report.

Investigating Sewer connections serving John Becks nronerty in block 0d, Was
discussed and turned to the Regular Sewer Committee tordetermine all charges to
all property owners in Block 24, in answer to a r.ecuest maae by E.L. Collins.
TRAPPIC ON NORTH 'rd NEAR HIGH SCHOOL:
A letter was read from the School Board stating that traffic was too heavy and
too -:fast at that location creating a serious condition, several near accidents
were witnessed the past two weeks. In the discussion it was thought that re-
painting the slow signs and making crossing lines on the street might help also
look into the probability of having the buses load and unload on Yakima or Nixon.
This was turned to the ;streets and Alley Committee for .recommendation.
REGARnSTO POST WAR ^INANCING:
A letter was read from Richards & Blum, Inc. relative to financing the City for
Post War improvements. This communication was ordered filed.
DUNCAN IMET7R, CO'?PORATIOPJ:
A letter was read from the Duncan meter Corporation requesting that the balance
due tham on the Meter Contract which is "2,188.11, be paid. Also that 15 meter
housings had been shipped to the City. City Clerk to advise that housings have
never been received and no other adjustment made.
DISABLED A7ERICAN VETERArTS:
A request to sell "Torget Ve Nots" for disabled. A-erican. Veterans ,vas ma?a by their
Chairman MI. Yadin of Yakima. Motton made by Marshall seconded by Beck that the
permission be granted. Hotion carried so ordered.
A.B. BUCHANAN:
A letter was read from A.B. Buchanan as' -ling to be granted a card table license in
case the ban on this activity should be raised, letter to be fildd-`with other.
applications.
CE1,TETERY LOTS:
A letter was read from E. L. Collins, City Treasurer regar.d.i.ng contract- being
turned in with out being signed, also that lots are being sold for T"22.50by
Lee Perry Company and he can find no price of this figure in the Ordinance,
this was turned to the cemetery committee to clarify.
"IRE TRUCK INSURANCE:
A letter from W.P. Brown regarding Insurance on the new fire truck, the Tirayor
suggested that Mr. Brown insure for fire and Stri.ngham for Liability and
Property damage, it was suggested by 14arshall that the old fire truck be reduced
to $800.00 valuation. A letter again urging consideration of the comnrehensive
Public Liability Policy was asked by Wendell Brown.

LICENSE POR CONGO INN:
Carlton B. Smith presents an application for a license to ope_r,=?.te the Congo Inn
at 126 W. Lewis he also wants an amusement center with pin ball machines in con-
nection. This was turned to the Police and License Committee.

The City Attorney advises that the finance committee shall consist of the TTayors

MISCELLANEOUS:
CLYDE LEE'S CLATM:
Against the city for 1,221.00 to recover damages sustained when he fell into a
sewer excavation on Clark Street between Sth and 9th. The City Attorney advised
that this claim be rejected, he has notified all persons concerned.
