CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at 8:10 P.M. Honorable TTayor, E. S. Johnston rresid ng.
ROLL CALL: By Clerk: v Councilmen present were C. L. ?tooth, Chas. Diemond, V. T'. 7'ar. shat 1. and
D. F. Rodkey. Absent were D.B. Baker, M.J.Linderman and City Attorney, K. J. Grimm.
REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS: set aside by unanimous consent
SEWER TO HOUSING PROJECT North of city limits and East of the Svol{a.ne Highway.
Mr. Langer of the Federal Housing Authority, Seattle, Washington and Lt.
Commander Duncan discussed the installation of a sever line connecting with the
city system. Langer was of the opinion that their budget would not permit
laying the pine at city regulation depth. The.Conmitte feels that in order for
the sewer line to be of any value to,the city, it should be kept down as low as
possible. To acquire the proper fall, the line will have to be 11 feet deep at
the man hole on First Street and 9 feet at the city limits. A motion was ma -e
by Marshall and seconded by Rodkey that the sewer line start down First Street
from city limits and be kept down sufficient depth to benefit the city after the
emergency. Motion carried so ordered.

JOHN '11. CUNNINGHAM
A letter to D. W. McGhee from John W. Cunningham was read, relative to
placing a portion of the new sewer in operation. Thirteen corrections were
also listed; Fred Scott to see that they are properly made.
GROCERY STORE NEAR HIGH SCHOOL
A letter was rea d from School District Number 1, regarding a grocery
store across the street from the High School.
CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR PU14IP
A letter was read from the De Laval Steam Turbine Company stating the
shipment date of the circuit breaker had been set fort>>ard to November 14, 1944..
YAKIMA - HANFORD STAGE COMPANY
A letter was read from C. A. Hahn requesting that their deposit of X200.00
be refunded. hiotion.riade by Rodkey and seconded by Diem-nd to return the depos2t.
Motion carried so ordered.
CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
A letter was read from D. I. Vanderpool requesting that their deposit on
a portable Tabernacle be refunded. Motion made -by Booth and seconded by 7ar-
shall that the deposit be returned. Motion carried so ordered.
REPORTS FRONT COI0'1ITTFES r
Fire Committee reports a regional meeting will be held here around the
first of December, and the firemen wish to have the firemen's auarters cleaned
up. Motion made by Diemond and seconded by Booth -that quarters be cleaned.
Motion carried so ordered. Relative to cutting the cab off the new fire truck,
motion was made by Rodkey and seconded by Diemond to cut the cab off if
finances would permit. Motion carried so ordered:

The nets should be taken in from Sylvester Park.
SEWER COP:IIAITTEE recommend tentatively accenting that hart of the sewer now
completed, when Fred Scott reports corrections, mentioned in F. S. ?eidlhack's
letter of November 10, 1944, are made. Motion made by Rodkey and seconded by
Marshall instructing the City Treasurer to collect a minimum charge of _t50.00-
aad $1.00 per foot over 50_feet per plated frontage, and 82.00 inspectinn fee
and monies placed in the water fund. I:,iotinn carried so ordered.
WATER COLUJITTEE reports the intake for the new water main has been installed.
LIGHTS
No report on changing lights at Fifth & B, also Ninth & B.
FIRE CO!7-!ITTEE to have Rev. Coleman's development inspected by the Fire
Ynsnector.
PARKING T1IETERS were discussed and further payments ordered withheld until a
representative appears for a consultation with the council.
STREET COT17ITTEE
Priority application Form No. 1'319, submitted to the War Production Roard,
Spokane, Washington, Sept 21, 1944, has been returned to this office star -ped
"Denied", account all fourth quarter motor graders for Governmental bodies
have been released.
