HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-27-1944 Minutes992 PASCO, WASHINGTON REGULAR MEETING C01V1MITTEE ROOM JUNE.27, 1944 CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at nine o'clock P.M. Honorable Mayor E. S. Johnston presiding. ROLL CALL: By Clerk. Councilmen present C. L. Booth, W. E. Drennan, V. F. Marshall, and D. F. Rodkey. Also City Attorney Karl J. Grimm. Councilmen absent D. B. Baker, Charles Diemond, and M. J. Linderman. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SET ASIDE by unanimous consent. CITY COMFORT ST_A_TION: Mr. Copeland, Wendell Brown, and Mr. Merrick were present. A resolution adopted by the Chamber of Commerce was read urging the City Council to provide a comfort station for Pasco visitors and shoppers. The need of comfort facilities was expressed by Mr. Copeland and %Ir. Merrick. Erecting a building for this purpose adjacent to the City Hall to the west on Clark Street was considered. In conclusion, the Chamber of Commerce is to draw up.:plans as to space, etc. and present to council. Drennan to work with Chamber of Commerce members on this. _RODEO LICENSE OF $50.00 T00 HIGH: In reconsidering, the fee of $50.00 seemed rather high. Motion made by Marshall, seconded by Booth that the classification be changed and fee cut and back license paid up to date. Motion carried so ordered. FIRST _AID _SUPPLIES: Mayor Johnston spoke for Dr. Tuder relative to using First Aid Supplies stored at the Court House and in the custody of the County Nurse. Some of these supplies are deteriorating and they think it best that they.be used. They would like to have them transfered to the County for general use. The minutes show "that in case these supplies were not used for purpose intended, they should be sold and credit given the City." It was thought that in this case, credit should be allowed on tentative budget. ROAD SIGNS'.'.CHANGED: Motion made by Marshall, seconded by Booth that the city entrance road signs be changed, as to 1943 census. Motion carried so ordered. COUNCIL-11ANAGER PLAN was discussed.
