Honorable 14ayor E. S. Johns- ton presiding. ROLL CALL: By Clerk found all councilmen present. City Attorney Karl Grimm absent. COT,U.TUNICATIONS. Two .letter s were read as follovis from the Department of Health to John W. Cunningham. WATER WORKS _IMPROV_E_I, ENT : One letter from the State Director -of Health, Lee Powers T;I. D. advises the Water Works Improvement Project has been approved. TYPE OF INTAKE: (second letter) Two types of intakes were mentioned in the letter, and each was discussed, in ebnclusion?it was suggested that , this being a temporary installation, that the simplest and most economical to install be used; Rodkey states lie has enough screen for the intake. h11r. Records of Kennewick has a shovel that could be obtained for $10.00 per hour. IbToti on made by Marshall seconded by Linderman that the water 11 and sewer committee do what every work is necessary to get this done soon as possiblle motion carried. 1 Mr. TIIcGhee advises some of the pipe in on the road and some is in stock pile near the pump house. PUIM: No decission has been made on the purchase of the pump, committee to get together in a few days and make a decission. Rodkey advises lie can get a 100 horse power starter in Seattle, for the old PUMP. SITE FOR ANOTHER WATER TANK:: A piece of ground triangular in shape in Pettits addition to Pasco, adjacent The,11adison Lumber and I,Till Company, this piece of property is owned by N. E. Robbins and offered for sale for $2,500.00, this wasithought by some of the council members to be a good site for the location of another ,eater tank and pipe to be stock piled the price was thought to be a little high in conclusion this was turned to the Water Committee and T:Tanager for recommendation. PETITIONS: _PETITION FOR SEWER BTW_, 1%IXON AND_I.TARGARETE 1ST & RD. In discussing this petition, it was estimated that about $$00.00 would extend the sewer line to serve this district, from the Federal Housing Project line, Mr. Boothto ascertain the amount the High School will appropriate; the trunk could run from the Housing Project to Third Ave and thus serve the school and district presenting the petition. The Committee recommend .that this district be added to the over all sewer project motion made by Linderman seconded by Booth to accept the committee recommendation; motion carried. WITH REFERENICE TO TI':E EAST_ SIDE SEWER PROJECT: This was discussed at length, with no legal adviee obtainable, it was im- possible to made a decission, following a lengthy discussion relative to the East side Sewer Proposed project two requirements were outstanding 1st to acquire prder to construct from the Public Health Department and second request that petition be circulated as drawn . PACIFIC _POWER _&_LIGHT COmpany, did not receive letter from Karl J. Grimm relative to installation of lights oh Ainsworth and the the Federal Housing Project. City Clerk was requested bo forward a copy. 9ARD ROO11 ON THIRD AND LEWIS: City Clerk to write the War^Production Board Spokane, Washington asking what .r,I1g.^Tc onhIR request on for priorities, in his application to build.
