Johnston presiding. ROLL CALL: By clerk, councilmen present were D. Byron Baker, Chas Diemond, W. E. Drennan, T9. J. Linderman and D. F. Rodkey. Absent were C. L. Booth and V. F. 14arshall also City Attorney Karl J. Grimm. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SET ABIDE: through a motion made by Linderman second- ed by Diemond and carried. L Johnson presented plans to erect a building without basement size 90 X 60' on the east half of lots 7 and 8 in block 2, Pettits Addition to Pasco, for rent- al purposes motion made by Rodkey seconded by Drennan that the permit be granted pro- viding requirements of that zone are met motion carried so ordered. Mr. Johnson as' 'ed to be given a letter to the War Production Board stating action taken by the council City Clerk authorized to furnish this information.. Rev, Coleman, presented plans and requested a permit to build 24 cabins size 12 X 15' on lots 13, 14 and 15 a church is proposed for lot 16, block 5 Northern Pacific Plat, to Pasco, a discussion was entered into whereby a motion was made by Linderman seconded by Diemond that a temporary permit be granted for the emergency duration covering the erecting of 24 cabins conforming with the building code, motion carried. Another discussion followed regarding the disadvantage of removing concrete blocks, Linderman and Diemond-with drew their motion by a motion which carried, there after a motion was was made by Linderman seconded by Diemond that Rev, Coleman be granted permit to build a permanent structure on lots 13,14 and 15 block 5 N. P. Plat of 24 cohcrete block cabins motion carried so ordered, a letter to the War Production Board was also requested by Rev. Coleman, the city clerk was authorized to issue. ENTER CITY BUS COIvTPAI'dY: Mir. C. A. Hahn of Yakima, wishes to take over the temporary permit on Bus Depot at Third and Lewis, issued to J. C. Pratt; The plans of his proposed develop- ments in Pasco were requested of Mr. Hahn by the council, he assured the council he would submit a report in ten days. • BOLIN' S APT. F Mr. Bolin presented plans for approval on a proposed apartment house of of 10 apartments on 4th and Yakima, the south west corner, a discussion was entered into relative to the type of structure, fire resisting material etc. Mr. Haylett had re- fused to issue permit account ordinance prohibiting mover than four apartment build- ings in residential district No. 1; Mr. Haylett arrived late -at the meeting and clan . fied his action in the case. Ordinance No. 532 amending Ordinance No. 459 was consid=: ered and adopted as follows, 11r. Bolin was referred back to tiie building inspector. REGULAR ORDER OV BUSINESS RESULTED, by unanimous consent. READING OF THE T,'IITTJ ES:; requested that Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved, 1;1r. Rodkey/in the minutes covering the meeting of T?arch 7th, 1944, that before reconsidering his"nay" vote and voting "eye" for the passage of Ordinance No. 541, he was assured by the City Attorney and 1.1r. Merrill of Spokane, that, other bonds of the same nature issued by the water department would not be a second mortgage. This was allowed unanimously. COTTTNICATIOITS: SMMR EXTENSION PROJECT: A letter was read from the State Director of I3ealth to John W. Cunningham, stating the sewer extension and improvement project has been approved. WATER PUT.TPS : : A letter was read from John W. Cunningham in regard to the purchase of a pump by the city, through bids opened and read January 18, 1944• he mentions the pumps of the three lowest bidders Allis Chalmers I,Tfg, Co. (Picatti Bro O , Ingersoll Rand (E. A. Finkbeiner) and the De Laval Steam Turbine Company, the councils choice of any one of the three would be all right; in 1&-. Cunninghams opinion their are all good pumps. I,,RI SCELLANEOUS : s CERTIFIED CHECKS AIM DEPOSITS: Motion made by Linderman seconded by Diemond authorizing the City Clerk to return certified checks and deposits, except the checks of the four lowest bidders the con- tractors agreement or deal should be consomated within the next few days motion car ried so ordered. John W. Cunningham has in his posession the four lowest bids. STOP'SIGNS FOR AINSWORTH AVE.: Motion made by Linderman seconded by Baker that stop signs be erected on all streets leading into Ainsworth Ave. motion carried. Brickey to be so advised. PRIORITIES FOR INTAKE REQUESTED OF THE CITY A_TTORIIEY:: No report was made on the progress being mate on obtaining priorities. Rodkey states he has prices on a compensator that could be used with the old motor. 14" pipe to be delivered in about seven days.
