CALL TO ORDER: Meeting was called to order at eight oclock P. Iii. Honorable Mayor E. S.
Johnston presiding.
ROLL CALL: By Clerk Councilmen present were C. L. Booth, Chas Diemond, W. E;..Dren-
nan, 112. J. Linderman, V. F. Marshall and D. F. Rodkey. Councilman D. Byron Baker
was absent.
REGULAR ODDER OF BUSINESS SET ASIDE through a motion made by Linderman
seconded by Rodkey carried so ordered.
A Parking Meteragreement from the Duncan Meter Dorporation was read and
given a thorough study paragraph at a time, this agreement replaced the one drawn
by Mr. Tiefel their representative of Spokane; In conclusion a motion was made by
Marshall seconded by Booth to accept the contract; also that the Mayor and City
Clerk be authorized to sign same motion carried by a roll call vote of six.
MILK ORDINANCE:
11r. de,Shepper requested that the enforcement of the milk Ordinance No.
497, be set aside for the duration, after some discussion relative to sanitary
conditions and grade "A" milk it was agreed that the Health department would
give Mr deShepper a letter of assurance that after a few minor repairs were made
no further expend-iture would be requested providing grade "A" milk is produced.
REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS RESUMED by unanimous consent.
SALARY RAISE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES;
Water and Street Committee�shanded in recommendations for rasset not
salaries which were read, in consideration of the other departments it.was suggest
that the Finance Committee obtain pay roll data, also anticipated receipts to deri
at an equable raise for underpaid employees.
REFUND $40.00 TO E. S. KENNEDY:
E. S. Kennedy requests a refund of $40.00 deposited for water service
in Gray's Addition motion made by Rodkey seconded by Linderman that the deposit
of $40.00 be refunded to E. S. Kennedy following advise by letter from the City
Attorney motion carried so ordered.
VOUCHER FOR $40.00 FAVOR ROY A. PALM:
A voucher presented by Roy A. Palm in the amount of $40.00 covering
services rendered grading civil service examination papers for Chief .of Police
was orderdd paid through a motion madd by Linderman seconded by Marshall carried by
a roll call vote of six.
RESOLUTION NO. 206: ADOPTING THE SEVEN POINT PROGRAM OF THE AMERICAN
LEGION AND THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS REGARDING THE RETURN OF JAPANESE TO
COASTAL AREAS AND THE EVACUATIOI•u PROGRAM MOTION MADE BY Rodkey seconded hyBooth
to adopt resolution nmmber 206 motion carried by roll call vote of six.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Chief of police reports very few trailers are now parked in restricted
districts T$AILERS PARKED IN THE STREETS must be moved, parties owning the adjoin)
property and permitting the parking must be notified by the police department, secor
notice will be served on the trailer house owner, this proceedure was decided upon
unanimously.
