CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at eight -five P. I:2. by Honorable (Mayor protem
D. F. Rodkey, Honorable Mayor E. S. Johnston arrived at eight thirty-five and pre-
sided over the meeting.
ROLL CALL: By Clerk Councilmen present were C..L. Booth, Chas Diemond, W. E. Drennan,
M. J. Linderman, V. F. Marshall and D. F. Rodkey. Councilman absent was D. Bryon Bak r,,
READING OF THE MINUTES: Ialinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved by a moti
made by 14arshall seconded by Booth carried so orderdd.
BILLS: Bills presented vor payment as follows were ordered paid through a motion made by
Booth seconded by Marshall that all bills properly signed and approved by the commit
be paid motion carried by a. roll call vote of six.

COTUMMNICAT IONS: TO RAISE_ SALARY OF POLICE CHIEF.
A letter was read from the Civil Service Board requesting that the salary
of the chief of police be raised $25.00 per month following a short discussion
motion was made by Rodkey seconded by Booth that action on this be taken at budget
making time motion carried so ordered. The chief's salary at present is $10.00 more
than patrolman Civil Service board request a difference of $25.00.
RAISE PRICE OF PRISONERS 1 E'ALS:
A letter was read from Claude Fisher of Sharps Cafe stating the prices of
meals for prisoners would be raised from .300 to .400 the first of March motion mad
by Linderman seconded by I.Iarshall accepting the price raise motion carried by a
toll call vote of six.

TRANSFER OF MOITIES TO LTSBRARY FUND:
A letter was read from the City Treasurer asking that a transfer be authorize
in the amount of $4,106.50 from the Current Expense Fund to the Library Fund motion
made by Rodkey seconded by Booth that the transfer be granted motion carried by a
roll call vote of six.
REPORTS FROM COT,1MITTEES:
FIRE COI.2. The fire truck pump has been dismantled and parts sent in for replacement.
No applications have been received for the position of Fire Chief.
Li -lit control switch has not been repaired.
More time asked by Marshall to obtain figures on insurance covering fire trucks and hose,
POLICE_ COIJI.Patrolmen suggestssusperiding for thirty days pin ball machine license on
machine in the Siberrian as minors are allowed -'to operate it Earle Mallory owner of the
machine is to be notified by the City Attorney.
WATER COTS. Water Manager to see that pump house employees are deputized and furnished
fire arms. Light in fron t of pump house not in proper location.
Flow meter has not been -.,eturned pumps will be tested soon as meter is received.
STRETPTS AND ALLEYS Word has been received that when the road mixing plant is on loca
ion
mix for the city can be prepared city paying the labor. Road oil can only be obtaine
for maintenance work. Brickey reports no help availn.ble for disriantling brick buildi

Tree roots are again raising sidewalks between Fifth and Sixth on Lewis, observation
shows that where the packings were lowered the tree roots stay lower and do not moles
the sidewalks. Mention was made of grading streets through Kurtzman's Addition to Frojit
street. Rock pile on City Hall lawn to be removed soon as possible. Side walk patchilig
and street grading is still in progress. Routing trucks was again discussed.
Buying dirt for filling purposes at .10¢ per cu yard was considered a good buy for a
a short haul.
CIT_Y BUILDINGS. Conditions and odor in the furnace room have been improved. Wiring
of city hall to be inspected by Drennan.
PARKS & CEI!1ETERY: The mens toilet at the beach has been broken toilet doors and roof
should be put on before replacing toilet. Rodkey has two iron doors and would sell cleap
no action taken. CEMETERY grounds pretty well takbna up.;obtaining about ten acres
directly south of the cemetery was considered committee�to look into the possibility
of purchasing this property and report at next meeting. LIGHT FIXTURES were removed
by Mr. Sample with permission of the council as they,. had been purchased by him. New
light fixtures were installed by the city.
REPORTS FROIrI OFFICERS:
The fire report for the month of February was read. Fire hose expected by
Federal Grant has not arrived.priority seems tobe causing the delay. not rn ::cie by
Motion made,by Marshall seconded by Linderman that the City Attorney, in con-
ducting city business by correspondence furnish the city clerk's office with a copy,
motion carried so ordered.
Word was received byothe water department that a $93.14 water bill for Little
Pasco had been approved for payment but not received.
