S. John ton presiding. ROLL CALL:.: By Clerk Councilmen present were D. Byron Baker, W. R. Cox. R. 0. Hall, and A. M. Westby. Councilmen absent were C. H. Brewer, 14. J. Linderman and M. J. McDonnell. READII'TG OF THE MINUTES: Minutes of the previous meeting were read and corrections made on Ordinance No. 500 amd Ordinance No. 504 showing quote " Motion made by Linderml seconded by Brewer that Ordinance be held over and developments discussed with Baker motion carried so ordered" unquote, be added to ordinance number 504 and stz from Ordinance number 500. minutes approved as corrected. HALL REQUESTS PAYTJIENT OF _VO_UCHERS : : Ale --ter Aralette:6 from G. D. Hall under date of December 14, 1942, was read -requesting that vouchers presented by him September 1, 1942 in the amount of $620.00 be paid, City Attorney suggests turning this to the Water Demmittee for investigation; Baker favors turning bill down. Motion made by Cox seconded by Ha] and carried that this matter be turned to the water and street committees for invE tigation and report made by December 29, 1942. REPORTS FROM COIU-,.IITTEES:: POLICE COTJMITTEE Chairman reports patrol car badly in need of repairs, estimates received from local dealers run from $177.00 to over $200.00, the council body favors purchasing a new car in reference to continued expenditures on repairs, City Attorney suggests that cal for bids be prepared in case a satisfactory bid is received a priority request will be sent through the dealer. Motion made by Baker seconded by Hall that the Council call for bids on a new panal patrol car motion carried so ordered. There being no appropriation made in the new budget to cover this expenditure, an emergency Ordinance will have to be prepaired. PUBLIC BUILDING: Correcting the water heating system at the City Hall was again d: Mayor Johnston advises he will try to figure opt a solution to this problem. STREETS AND ALLEYS The Gravel f5itsituation was discussed, City Attorney assured the Council that Harold Blanton would pull down the sand dunes as much as possibl .-sand level to 100 feet deep on Ainsworth Street and plant trees by Janiary 1.5, 194 READING OF ORDINANCES:: ORDINANCE NUTABER 504 Changing names of certain streets in the City Pasco, Washington was discussed, Baker favors changing the name of Gray Ave., to 1st Ave -:-tin conclusion a motion was made bye Hall seconded by Baker that Ordinanc No. 504 be amended to state that GrayAvenue in Gray's East Riverside Addition be designated First Avenue motion carried so ordered. Motion made by Baker seconded Hqll that Ordinance No. 504 be adopted as amended motion carried by a roll call v of four. ORDINANCE N0._506;; Relative to reinstating City Employees that return from tb.rvi-c:esdwith the armed forces. Motion made by Baker seconded by Hal that Ordinance Na 506 has been given the first reading motion carried so ordered. ORDINANCE NO. 507 An Ordinance amending section twenty-one of Ordinance No. 497 relating to Ta lk-arid milkmptbducts, motion made by Baker second by Cox that Ordinance No. 507 has been given the first reading motion carried so ordered. TvIcGhee's monthly report was read. .,City Treasurer Tella Riddle's monthly report was read. City Clerk furnished each menber with a monthly budget report of all departments. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:: City Attorney advises the garbage Ordinance is being enforced, starting from the center of the city. of $58.95 JoSullitan paid $20.00 on notelDec.2nd. bal to be paid by Dec 31, 1942. PRINTING AND PUBLISHING;THE T.iILK ORDINANCE NO. 497;. In publishing and making prints five words were omitted from section No. 7, City Attorney suggests that the Pasco Press republish section No. 7 as corrected; Copies may be corrected by the Clerk. BELL TOWER:: Condition of the bell tower was mentioned no decision made. TO PAY RELAINDER OF 1942 BILLS December 29, 1942. By unanimous consent of Council a meeting will be held December 29, 1942, to clear up all outstanding bills. NE -71 BUSINESS:: 1 PRINTING BIDS were received up to eight oclock; Kathleen Rigg-leeeditDrodf the Pasco Press advised by letter that she was not submitting a bid, however in case the bids received were considered to high she would cooperate. The'Pasco Herald submitted a bid of one cent per work on all legal notices Motion made by Baker seconded by Hall carried that this be turned to the printing com- mittee for report December 29th., 1942:. LETTER OF A_P_PRECIATION:: The Mayor asked that a letter of appreciation be forwarded to the appointed councilmen, finishing unexpired terms. Hall so loved second by Baker carried so ordered.
