BOLL CALL: By Clerk Councilmen present were W. R. Cox, C. V. Downey. G. K. Ebersole, and R. 0. Hall, Baker a d McDonnell arriving late. Councilman absent was M..J.Lindern REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SH ASIDE through a motion made by Cox seconded by Hall, to hea from Mrs. Leroux -Chairman of the Library Board in regard to a raise in salary for t Librarian. In a letter to the Council dated Juiy 28, 1942 the board states that the July Pay roll will show a -raise of twenty dollars -per month in the Librarian's salar and that the board feels justified in allowing this raise which they wish to-continu through the balance of 1942, Mrs Leroux was informed that this procedure did not cor with the State budget laws; It was suggested by Mr. Cash the State Examiner that tY: raise of twenty dollars per month covering. the six months period which the board des to pay should be taken care of in the 1943 budget now being compiled; The tentative budget for the Library shows the Librarian's salary raised from $1200.00 per year tc $1500.00 therefore in order to take care of the additional $120.00 it was agreeded by Krs.,Leroux and the Council that the salary of the Librarian for the year 1943 was'to be $1620.00. The Council request that the Library Board confirm this decisic by letter. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS RESTMED BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT. TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR 1943 CONSIDERIF:. The tent&tive budget for 1943 was presented by the City Clekk, checked and discussed by the Council by departments in their order. TETT. Cash remained through the meeting and was consulted from time to time retarding budget making, emergenci ordinances and city laws. City Clerk to furnish an estimated balance of cash on hand December 31, 1942. Mention was made that the Shore Patrol office or headquarters is being established in the City Hall between the Fire Truck room and the Police Office, all expenses covering the repairs etc are to be taken care of by the Navy. ADJOURNMENT: 12;45 Motion made by Cox seconded by Baker that the meeting adjourn to next regular meet: night Tuesday September 1, 1942, eight oclock P.T.T. motion carried so ordered.
