Johnston arrived shortly thereafter and proceeded with the meeting. ROLL CALL: By Clerk Councilmen present were R. 0. Hall, Robert James, 1,4. J. Linderman, IVI. J. McDonnell and Fred Selph; C, V. Downey and D. Byron Baker arrived.late. I.O.O.F. LODGE NO. 217 RE(OUEST CEMETERY_ LOTS SET ASIDE: A letter was read from the I.O,.O.F. Lodge No. 257 requesting that lots one, twent two,twenty three, and forty-four in block five City View Cemetery be set aside as an Odd Fellow plot, graves to be paid for as used at the rate of $60.00 per grave The Cemetery Committee acting on the above through a request by Mr. McGhee, recom mend granting of the request, motion made by James seconded by Linderman that the Committees report be accepted motion carried so ordered. FEDERAL _101ORK_AGENCY PUBLIC WORK RESERVE: A -letter was read from the Federal Work Agency Public Works Reserve requesting that forms be filled out, signed and returned covering estimates on needed projec for development after the Tiuration. M. J. Linderman to furnish figures on sewer extension expenditures. Motion made by James seconded- by Hall that this be taken care of by next meeting motion carried so ordered. CITY OWNED PROPERTY; A list of City Owned property submitted by the Accessors Office was read some of City holdings were omitted, City Clerk to complete the report. A map showing all City owned property in Franklin County, to be obtained through the County Enginee Office was requested by Downey and favored unanimously, City Clerk to take necess steps. REPORTS FROM CO1Z.IITTEES: LIGHT & FIRE COMMITTEE: -Requests are sill coming in for a light on Lindsay at '°B Automatic control -on ornimental street lights has been installed. Downey spoke to Council relative to Volunteer Firemen and the Fire Chief hieing called by the drat discussion followed with no action taken. Steps are bing taken to mount the fire Siren on the roof of the City Hall buildin thus improve tarring volumn. POLICE_COT,41JIT^1EE: No report. STREETS AND ALLEYS Some trees are bing removed. Beach gr4.ded and surfaced with sand; Streets graded and storm sewers installed. PUBLIC BUILDINGS: Mr. Greenwood has been ill and unable to construct walk through the City Hall dawn. Chairman reports the Pacific Power & Light Co. will continue the flat rate of $13.00 for the City Hall during the year 1942. CIVIL,SERVICE CA_BINE^1_ for filing was discussed the cabinet desired would cost abo $40.00, which was thoughttto be high at this time and no provisions having been m in the budget for same. It was thought some way could be figured out to file Civi Service records in the City Hall Building. FINANCE C0181ITTEE; Request that the Housing.Authority Fund be set up in the amou. of $50.00. Cemetery Agreement is being straightened out a his office in accourence with the re -plata SPECIAL CO1-„UjITTEE: On Red Cross Emergency Supplies, $500.00 is reported as being the amount agreed upon by the Committee and County Commissioners, The County Nurs advises that $671.00 was the actual figure, $335.50 for the City Emergeny Fund. MISCELLANEOUS Figures were submitted by the water department covering the water service to a proposed Trailer Camp sight between Ainsworth and 'Washington Streets west of the Rail Road Bridge, no action taken. The City Clerk asked for a few days extra help hire same was gr The Mayor suggested employing Mrs. Heater to assist with City a Defense correspondence, the exact amount of days, or hours could not be stated a few hours at a time would cover the need. The Council_=favor the purchasing of hamberger for the purpose of poising rat.4 at the dump.
