PETITIOIIII'dG THE _CITY TO ADOPT YULE -TIDE STREET LIGHTING & DECORATIOIdING: A petition was presented and.read requesting the City to adopt the program started by merchants, of Christmas Street decorating and.lighting during the holiday seascn donations made by the merchants purchased the equipment all of which will be turned over to the City, the merchants committee expressed the desire to have the City el - tend this present program to include three blocks on Lewis, at thisptsmen.thbis.qui ent takes care of 4th from Columbia to Clark, Lewis from Fifth to Third the extension would enclude one block betwebn 5th and 6th on Lewis and tutu blocks between Third and Firs.t on Lewis, after some consideration a motion was made by Chenoweth seconded by Downey that the City accept offer of various merchants of Christmas Street decorations same to be erected and maintained by the City during the Christmas Season, and if necessary funds and material are available the system be extended to decorate LewisSt. between Tacoma and Sixth; If extension be found impossible then system is to be erected on sane streets as ddcorated last year so as to benefit IQerchants donating the fixtures. Lotion carried so ordered; A.special Committee appointee by the Mayor, Harry Chenoweth, Robert James and C. V, Downey are to obtain the equipment which is stored at Grigg Store and the Empire Electric and work out the street decorating and lighting. STREET EQUIPMENT: Mr. Sailing was present and informed the Council that a catepil ar No. 12 grader would be available the last of January or the first of February, he was requested to present a letter stating prices etc. Street Committee to work out spe i- zlcations for bids.., REGULAR ORDER Or BUSIIMS RESUIIED: By unanimous consent of the Council. CORRESPONDENCE. Wm. Healy cancellation_ of interest; A letter was read from Mr. Vim. Healy owner of lots 19,20,21, & 22, block 23, Petti s Addition -t " Pasco, stating that.he has a buyer and requests that the Council drop the unpaid interest on improvements. LTotion made by Downey seconded by Hall that the latter be turned to the City Attorney for handling motion carried so ordered. CLAREUCE LUDWIGS DOES NOT WANT V,1DEDS BURIIED: A. letter from Clarence Ludwigs was read instructing the City not to clean weeds on his property, letter turned to City Attorney with instructions to proceed under or - inance. MOLLAR GARIIISHbIENT : A letter from Police Justice Grant H. Stringham informs the Council that his decis on the garnishment served by the Columoia Hardware Co., on the City of Pasco, in connection with L2ollars agreement with the Cemetery Department, is that the garnis be paid; Motion made by Ball seconded by Dwroney that the.case be taken to Superior Court motion carried so ordered. SPORTS FROM OFFICERS: Water Manager D. W. I:Ic7thee's monthly report was read. Building Inspector A. Mi. Iiaylett reports permits issued for the Ielonth of September 1941, in the amount of $11,475.00. Permits issued for the 11onth of Odtober 1941, i the amount of $4, 025.00. Total valuation to date $1721652.00 same period last yea $335,219.00. City Clerk furnished each menber with a monthly budget report of all departments. City Treasurer's I.Zonthly report was read. RESOLUTIONS A1,TD ORDINANCES: A resolution was adopted supporting the granting of tempora permits for hauling Bulk Petroleum from the Port of Pasco, and to be represented t Karl J. Grimm at the hearing before a joint Board of said Commission at Pasco begi December Ist, 1941. motion made by Downey seconded by James to adopt the resolutio �ZcDonnell voting; against the motion, motion carri.d so ordered.
