JohnstoL ROLL CALL: By Clerk, Councilmen present were D. Byron Baker, Harry Chenoweth, C. V. Downey, R. 0. Hall, Robert James and M. J. Linderman. Councilman absent was 1% J. McDonnell. READING OF THE LlINUTES: Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS SET ASIDE: Through a motion made by Hall seconded by Baker carr ed so ordered. to hear from Harvey Colvin, relative to Ordinance # 442 which des g= natds-fire extinushing equipment to be installed on petroleum delivery true s, Mr. Colvin thinks the requirments are rather drastic; The Standard Oil trucks are equ.iped with two quart Pyreen extinguishers; Investigation will be made by the Fire Cormiittee and report turned int, REGULAR ORDER OF BUSINESS RESUMED; Bir unanimous consent of the Council body. BILLS cX C011lZiNICATIONS: BIDS RECEIVED ON OLD N.P. BUILDING AT KI4WA IS BEACH: Bids were opened and read as follows, James G. Swisher $41.00, Mrs C. B1icline $26.501 E. J. Sargent $75.00 and Mrs. Rainboth $25.00. Lotion made by Chenoweth seconded by Linderman to accept E. J. Sargents Bid of $75.00 motion carried so ordered.. REPORTS FRO14 COM1,.1ITTEES: FIRE & LIGHT T11e Committee does not recommend installing additional lights at this time account insufficient funds, this refers to over head intersedtio lighting. They report the new light control installed at the Underpass is ver satisfactory. POLICE COIZ:,IITTET: Have been unable to get together therefore no report ready. WATER CO1,1TITTEE: Action still pending on dismantling N.P.Pump house, Committ� in favor of asking for a lease on more ground at the City Pump House site and a reduction of $25.00 yearly rent to $1.00 per year. City Attorney to obtain copy of lease and discription of property then refer back to the Committee fo% a report. ONE MORE POKIER LINE: being brought into Pasco Sub. Station from Kennewick, so reports Mr. Linderman, having been informed by Roy Skill. WEEDS: Brickey reports cleaning and burning weeds on Idrs Grays lots the 'cost whicLA was $10.00, and the same on IYIr. Neffs property at the cost of $5.00. Building Committee also report Council Room has been put in order for Regiona meeting of the Association of Washington Cities. MISCELLANEOUS: Machinery storage on lots between Third and Second on Clark, being unsightly discussed, also ownership of lots, City Attorney to contact B. B. Horrigan a: he is thought to be the owner of the lots. Downey to contact County Comrlissic as the County also own property in this block. A_ voucher presented by the Cid Treasurer covering the purchase of stamps, was held up for discussion, Motion made by Hall seconded by Baker that the bill be allowed motion carried by a roll_ call vote of four. Linderman and McDonnell votin against the motion. A voucher Presented_Z. the Heald's Engineering Co. in the amount of $5.05 for a Transportation and Highway Map.' Motion made by Baker to accept the 11'ap and draw warrant for same; motion died for the want of a second. Mayor to -return the Map.
