FALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order at eight -thirty P.M. Honorable Mayor E. S. Johns
presiding.
ROLL CALL: By Clerk Councilmen present were D. Byron Baker, C. V. Downey, R. O. Hall and
Robert James; Councilmen Absent -were Harry Chenoweth, M. J. McDonnell and M. J. Lin-
derman.
READING OF THE MINUTES: Minutes of the previous meeting were not read, account being an
adjourned meeting.
READING OF ORDINANCES::
ORDINANCE NO. 471; AN ORDINANCE VACATION I.IADISON STREET BETWEEN
THE SOUTHERLY LINE OF WASHINGTON AVENUE AND THE SOUTH LINE OF LOT 9 IN BLOCK.40 OF
RIVERSIDE ADDITION TO PASCO AND THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 40 IN RIVERSIDE ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF PASCO BETWEEN LOTS 47 5 and 6 ON THE NORTH AND LOT 7 ON THE SOUTH IN SAID
BLOCK.
Motion made by Baker seconded by James that ORDINANCE NO 471 ha:
had its first reading motion carried so ordered. Motion made by James seconded by Hal
that ORDINANCE NO. 471 be given its second reading by title only motion carried so
ordered; Motion made by James seconded by Downey that ORDINANCE NO 471 has had its
seconddreading, motion carried so ordered. Motion mgdd by Baker seconded by Hall that
by unanimous consent of the Council body ORDINANCE NO. 471 was given its third readir
Motion carried so ordered. IJlotion made by James seconded by Baker declaring ORDINANCI
NO. 471 to have had its third reading Motion carried so ordered. Motion made by DownE
seconded by James that ORDINANCE NO. 471 be adopted as read motion carried by a roll
call vote of four.
A RESOLUTION: was read authorizing & dirdcting the Mayor and Cit
Clerk to execute a warranty deed to the Pacific Power & Light Company, Lots four to r
(4 to 9) inc. in block 40 Riverside Addition, with that portion of the now vacated
Madison Street and the vacated Alley in block 40 lying north of the north line of lot
7 in block 40, conditioned upon the conveyance Sy the Port of Pasco to the City of
Pasco; Block 41 Riverside Addition to the City of Pasco. Motion made by Baker secondE
by James to accept the resolution motion carried so ordered.
MISCELLANEOUS::
CEMETERY BILLS::
Motion made by James seconded by Downey that the City Attorney bE
given authority in manner necessary, in his discretion to collect Cemetery Bills,
Motion carried so ordered.
BURNING LOTS::
Downey spoke to the Council relative to burning weeds by two or
more members of the Fire Department, with old equipment, also that enrolled Firemen
be classed for call by rotation such as one-half responding to the first call and
the second half to the next call, thust*lltminating a full crew on a small fire, Cou.
present were in favor.
PURCHASING CAST IRON PIPE::
Motion made by Hall seconded by James that the Water Department
Manager be given authority to purchase specifications 150 bell and spicot cast iron
pipe on call for bids awarded to Hugh G. Purcell Company, Motion carried so ordered.
ADJOURBMENT::
Motion made by Baker seconded by Hall that the meeting adjourn
the next regular meeting night August 7th 1941, Thursday eight O'clock P.M.
Motion carried so ordered.
