Mayor Hicks presiding. The Council met in Special Session got the purpose of adopting thei,budget for the year 1940'. Councilmen present on roll call were 4. E. Burns, Q. L. Pangle, Art Partch and .1. M. destby; C. V. Downey appearing at eight twenty. Absent were M. J. Linderman and M. J. McDonnell. Art Partch was called to the Depot at 9;25. It was agreeded to that changes in the budget would be made by unanimous consent and hereby eleminate making of motions. A number of changes were made in ac- cordance with the request of various Councilmen and the Ilayor; The Budget was made in shape for passgge as an ordinance. ORDINANCE 14 0. 446,ADOPTING THE BUDGET I+'OR THE YEAR 1940, was given its fir reading, motion made by Downey seconded by Burns. Carried, that ordinance No, 445 be declared to have had its fTrdt-r�aadin Motion made by Pangle seconded by Downey that Ordinance No. 446 bevgit4n its second reading by title only, and ordinance was read by title. Motion made by Downey seconded by Pangle and carried that Ordinance 10.446 has had its second reading; !.lotion carried. Ordinance N0.446 was thereupon read the third time and motion was made by Pangle and seconded by Downey and carried,that ordinance ido. 449 be declakied to have had its third reading. Motion was then made by Pangle and seconded by burns and carried by a roll call vote of four, that Ordinance 1lo, 446 be declared as finally adopted.
