place and the building would be removed. Building Inspector was instructed to as
investigate and report at the next meeting.
ADJOURDblENT: Motion made by 'Wirth, seconded by Burns and carried, that the
meeting adjourn until 9 PDI, Thursday, ,iecemher 9th.

The city council met in an adjourned session .,ith Mayor Hicke presiding and follow -
aa. councilmen present on roll call: Burns, Haylett, O'Herin and Virth; absent were
hristensen, Leroux and Partch.

GEORGIAN ROOKS LICENSE: IIatterof issuing a license to Betty Roberts to run the
rgia,n Rooms was brought up, the police being opposed to gKKixtt granting the license
motion was made by PJirth, seconded by O'Herin and carried, that the license application
rejected and license fee returned to applicant, Betty Roberts. WAHRAIdT 14396 issued.
Matter of license for the new Save L4ore Drug store brought up, as to whether the
ense to be issued was to be for 1939 or 1939 and council was of the opinion that the
inence should be en -forced and no exception made.
The Council nroceeded to canvass the votes cast at the city general election held
n ilecember 6th, 1939. Witnesses to the count included for the League Ticket, Mr. and
rs. Chas. Petterson, L. 14. Goodell, Geo. N. Hill and Mrs. Veta I:dason, while for the
ndenendent Citisens. S. 11. McGee chocked the count. Daring the counting and reeding of
pilots Mrs. Mason stood behind Haylett who read off the nrmes, while Wirth opened the
nvelope containing absentee ballots.
Previous to counting the ballots, City Clerk Gertrude Speier submitted an adfidavit
o the effect that the eldetion returns had in no way been altered by additions or erasures
nd were the sane as when she received them.
After adding the absentee ballots and checking the poll books, dihe following
esolution was read:
"The City Council of the City of Pasco, having met at the City Hall for the purpose
fcanvassing the vote cast at the City General Election December 6, 1939, and having proceed
lin the manner required by law to dulycenv9ss the said vote and examine and record the
?sentee ballots cast in said election, finds:
"That at said election there were cast: For Raymond Hicks, for Idayor, the sum
f 107 votes; for Mary Mee, for City Treasurer„ 995 votes; ffior Mrs. E. W. L andt, for City
reasurer, 426 votes; for Adah It. Perry, for City Clerk, 1099 votes; for C. LI. O'Brien,
:r City Attorney, 656 votes; for X. J. Grimm, for City Attorney, 590 votes; that for
mncilman for the 4 -year term, the following number of votes were cast for the following,
