Regular Session _ October 7th, 1937.
ROLL
CALL: City council met in regular session with Mayor Hicks
presiding'and folio
councilmen
present: Christensen, Haylett, Leroux and Wirth, balance being
absent.
Petition
was presented to council relative to improvement of alley between Lewis
.,nd Clark,
running from 4th to 3rd Streets, petition being signed by Messrs. G. T. Austin,
Carl Wommack
and R. A. Chenoweth. Petition called attention to fact
alley was higher the
,djoining property,
which would cause water to flood the new buildings
occupied by these
parties. Petitioners
were told that the condition would be remedied.
They also proposed
to establish
parking space on adjoining lots and city will fix alley to
that lots can be us
for this purpose,
as well as doing away with flood condition.
Minutes

made by Wirth, secoe
by Leroux and

Communication from 1. R Stockman making application for the position of engineer
water system was placed on file, city clerk to advise him position was filled.
Baur & Cunnkngham advised the Water Dept. that there would be at. delay in getting in
dr report, as they were getting figures from the cast on cost of dismantling and moving
,sent water tank -
Clerk reported license collections of $192.60, making total to date 4'P410z.r2
Report of ,Nater Manager showed net profit of &,1702.06 last month and $2096.96 the
th previous.
Report of City Treasurer was passed around.
Ordinance No. 429, being proposed contract with P. P. & L. Co. for street lights
residence district was di cussed and passed over ijr for the time being.
Light Committee reported extra lights at Lewis St. underpass had been taken off.
BOILER FOR CITY HALL: Fred Scott of Pasco Pluiebing & Heating Co., advised the council
t it would take about 3 months to secure repair parts for the boiler in the city hall
it was obsolete. A new boiler he quoted at a price of :393. f.o.b. Pasco and the cost
installation would be around .,00. Motion made by Xzxa3=xxxxxxdat Wirth, seconded
Leroux, that the Purchasing Agent be instructed to buy boiler and have it installed
,edAtbly.
A Resolution introduced at the request of the State Highway Dept., covering
r_runs and extra expense in connection with street improvement work was read and adopted
n motion made by Wirth, seconded by Christensen and carried.
Library B)a.rd submitted papers for a W. P. A. project providing for an assistant
rarian and the mayor and city clerk were authorized to sign the papers upon motion
