Adjourned Meeting _ December 30th, 1936.
ROLL CALL: Pursuant to agreement, the city council met in an adjourned meeting
for the purpose of cleaning up the current year's business. Following were present
upon roll call, in addition to Mayor McGee: Councilmen Burns, Haylett, O'Herin and Wirth;
absent Partch and Shaffer.
COMMUNICATION from Washington Surveying & Rating Bureau read relative to annual
report for 1936 and this was referred to Fire & Water Committee.
Central Labor Council, thru their secretary Mrs.B.J.Diehm, wrote protesting action
of police matron at the dance given Dec. 19th, police matron having stopped the dance.
O'Herin stated that he made the statement the night of the dance that "in his opiniontfxtx
if it was a free dance, a police matron would not be necessary. City Attorney O'Brien
st ted that a public dance in the ordinance is defined as one at which an admission
charge is made. Letter referred to the Police Committee for investigation and report.
Communication read from Assn. of '4ashington Cities, asking for a table showing
percentage of tax allocated to various units in the county; referred to the city clerk.
Request from State Tax Commission seeking information regarding contracts awarded
by the city subsequent to Aug. let, 1933, was also referred to the city clerk.
Federal Power Commission sent forms covering their request for certain information
in regard to power use and this was referred to the Fire, Light & Water Committee.

SECURTIES TO SAFEGUARD CITY'S FUNDS: Treasurer submitted a letter from the
antral Hanover Bank & Trust Co. of New York, dated Dec. 21, 1936, in which they advised
hat $20,000. of tax anticipation notes were being held by them as -ecurity for funds of
he city of Pasco and could be released only upon advice from the city treasurer. The
enk of Commerce had given the treasurer $5000. in additional securities but failed to
nclose a letter from the Central Hanover Bank. & Trust Co. saying that these securities
ere being held in trust for the city, and this was referred to the Finance Committee.
egarding the question of the mayor and city clerk OK'ing securities, city attorney gave
t as his opinion, that the securities should be OK'ed by the mayor, city clerk and one
°mber of the city council; Mayor McGee appointed O'Herin on this to renresent the council.
TRANSFER OF FUNDS: Motion made by ','firth, seconded by O'Herin and carried, that
11 money which would be in the Cemtery Fund at the close of business December Slst, 1936,
e transferred to theCurren.t Expense Fund and that $550.00 be transferred from out of
ewis St. Undercrossing 'a" "-(now in Current Expense) to Secondary Highway Fund in order
o reimburse the latter fund for $550.00 charged against it for engineering expense
n connection with the Lewis St. undercrossing work.
City Attorney was granted additional time in which to investigate whether the
ity can claim a refund on its gasoline purchases.
Councilman Burns was gm granted additional time to investigate the sunken oidewelk
at the Shell Oil Co., and it was understood that all sidewalks which have dropped
t various points wouli be inspected to determine exact condition of such sidewalks.
Matter of proposed ordinance covering an occupation tax was discussed but nox
ction taken.
Letter from U. S. Reemployment service regarding labor at Lewis St. was read
nd discussed; letter ordered filed.

Pennsylvania Salt Mfg.
Co. of Washington, covering chlorine to be used during the year 1937,

by O'Herin and carried. Price quoted for chlorine
was 9 cents per
pound, FOB
Tacoma, including return freight on empty cylinders.
Claim
from Beek's Dodge & Plymouth Agency, amount $5.00, for
waxing police car was
