Special Session _ October 5th, 1936.
In compliance with the statutes, the city council met in special session for
the purpose of adopting the budget for the year 1937.
ROLL CALL: Upon roll being called, following members were pres,nt: Mayor MeG
Councilmen Burns, Haylett, O'Herin, Partch, Shaffer and Wirth.
)} A request from the sexton asking that budget be raised so that his salary woul
be,1100.00 was discussed and it was finally decided that all appointive officials were to
be given a N5.00 per month increase. The salary of the city clerk was set at tip50.00
per month, necessary ordinance covering it to be introduced later. Overexpenditures
for 1936 for V. P. A. and Secondayy Highway Funds were placed in the budget and it was
agreed that an ordinance declaring an emergency to cover the expenditures for W. P. A.
work for the balance of the year as well as present 692.93 expenditure would be passed.
ORDINANCE No. 420, Adopting the budget for the year 1937 was given its first
reading upon motion made by O'Herin, seconded by Viirth and carried. Ordinance read Nnd
motion was made by O'Herin, seconded by Wirth, that the ordinance be declared to have
had its first reading; carried.
Motion made by O'Herin, seconded by Wirth, that ordinance be given its second
reading by title only; carried and ordinance was so read. Motion then made by O'Herin,
seconded by Wirth that ordinance be declared to have had its second reading; carried.
Ordinance was read again and motion was made by Wirth, seconded by O'Herin, th
ordinance be declared to have h d its third reading and be declared passed; carried.
Motion made by O'Herin, seconded by Wirth, that Ordinance No. 420 be declared
adopted as read; carried.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Wirth, seconded by Burns that meeting adjourn;
carried.

CARS INTERFERING WITH FIRE DEPARTMvN T: Matter of cars following fire engine
