Arnold, Commander of the Veterans of Foreign „ Stars was read, asking permission to sponsor a carnival during the week of June 9th _ 13th, inclusive, (namely, the United American Shows, Inc.) An understanding was reached by the Council and the Veterans present that no gambling games would be tolerated, and a motion made by 'Wirth, and seconded by Partch, that the re- quest of the Veterans be granted. Motion carried. Communications from Norman Hill, advising probable changes in thy+ design of undercros:>ing plans were read. A letter from the Washington Surveying and Ratinp Bureau,dated March 24, ststing that their Engineers were in Pasco on said date, for the purpose of rerating various properties within the city limits, was read. REPORTS: The reports of the City Treasurer and the City Clerk were placed before the Council. The report of the Police Judge was read, showing total fines for Iuiarch, as 021.00. UNFINISHEit BUSINESS^ Bids forth@ installation of the Booster Pump at the cemetery, were read from the Empire Electric Co., ant the Pasco Machine Co. Motion made by ,firth and seconded b�, O'Herin that the Hater Department take full charge of the installation of 4e booster pump, with power to act. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: A form for regulations for janitor service for the City Hall, as outlined by the City Council Building Committee was read, Motion made by 0' and secon'tel by ',girth that the enforcing of the said regulations be referred to the Building Committee. Attorney O'Brien reported that the dnte for the undercrossing case had been set forward to April 13th. ADJOURNMENT: Plotion to adjourn was made by i'Herin and seconded by Partch. Motion carried. NUTES: The minutes of the regulavispssion of April 2nd were read and apnroved. S: A bill against the current expense fund for seven sprinklers for use in the cemetery, to Harry D. 'Williams, for 9`10,50, was read. !lotion made by ',7irth, and seconded by O'herin that the bill be allowed. Notion carried on roll call. (Warrent No. 12412 covers). Warrent ido. 11942, to G.i. Mitchell for September 1935 salary, apparent ly having ben lost, Mirth moved that the City Clerk stop payment on said warrent, and Issue a new one^to cover. ( Warrent ido. 12413 covers). rts: The cemetery committee reported the sale of lot No. 42 in Black 3 in Perpetual Upkeep, and the south one-half of lot 29 block No. 4 in the new Addition, in the City View Cemetery, for *360. A warranty deed for the same was read and motion made by Partch, second- ed by O'Herin, to authorize the layor and City Clerk to sign and acknowledge the same. Motion carried. A communication from the City Treasurer enclosing receipts for two tax revenue anticipation notes of 410,000 each, was read for the approval of the Council, and referred to the Finance Committee. IIdISHED BUSINESS: Mayor UcGee reported that the Sexton wishes the use of a team for working up new ground. Matter referred to the Cemetery Committee. BUSINESS: The matter of the removal of an objectionable barn on "A" Street was discussed. Motion made by Haylett and seconded by Partch that this be referred to the. Police Committee. Iulotion carried. Water Manager McGhee reported that the 'mater Department would either have to have a new car or have the one now in use overhauled. I -lotion by O'Herin, seconded by Haylett, that the Water Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for a new pick-up truck, bids to opened April 25th. Motion carried. McGhee reported that apparently the 4200 budgeted for the booster pump would not be sufficient, and asked if some part of the money to be received from the C ounty for the lots might be used for this purpose. The Cemetery Committee agreed that this could be done Mr. B. B. Horrigan was called before the Council and questioned concern - Ing the erection of buildings on his property on Lewis Street between Tacoma and First Streets without a building permit. Mr. Horrigan stated that he had been refused a permit on the gvounds that the buildings do not conform with the specifications re- quired by the City, but that accordizig to his views they do conform. The matter was carried over for future consideration. Motion made by Partch and seconded by Haylett to adjourn until April 25, 1936. !Motion carried.
