Special session January 9, 1936
20LL CALL: Pursuant to a call by the Mayor the City Council met in special
session for the purpose of passing upon a resolution with reference to the plans for
the sewer and water main connections at the proposed under -crossing on Leriis Street
and to care for any other business that may properly come befoee such meeting.
Roll call shored Mayor McGee presiding and Councilmen Burns, Haylett
O'Herin, Shaffer, an 7irth.present.
350IUTI0N: The following resolution was read.
BE IT HESOLTED BY THIS PASCO CITY COUNCIL that the lryout of sewers and
water mains, as shown on the plans of the State Highway Department, for the pxv posed
under crossing on Lewis Street in the City of Pasco, be and the same are hereby approved.
PASSED THIS 9th day of January, 1936.

Notion was made by O'Herin, and seconded by Shaffer that the resolution

EPAIRING OF THE CITY CATE-.PILLAR DISCUS;,ED: Upon discussion of repairs nedded for the
City's caterpillar, Mayor McGee reported that an investigation showed a possible
cost of ,$ome .'535.00 for overhauling' and parts.
A motion by Shaffer not to have the Caterpillar repaired was seconded
by O'Herin. Motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT: A motion to adjourn was made by O'Herin and seconders by Burns.

UNFINI'.HED BUSINESS: W.P.A. Supervisor, Joe Lerner, reported on the progress of the City
Hall and Street projects, suggesting the addition of a counter in the Police Department
Office, at an approximate cost of aj15.00, and reporting very satisfactory progress
being made by the street orevelin,e Crew.
LEN BUSINESS: Mayor ;=c Gee suggested that it seemed advisable to rearrange the City
Lot Cil committee:. :.otion made by ilaylett and seconded by Burns that the arrangement

Bids will be received by the City Cc ncil of Pasco, Washington up to 9 o'clock P.m.
January 11th 1936, on the following.

Bids will be received on Opon Bell, Pre -calked joint or Machined joint cast pipe.
Pre_crrlked joints to be poured with pig lead.
Pipe and fittings to be coated inside and out with coal tar pitch vvrnish.
Bide to be submitted with the following understanding.
The City reserves the right to increas or decrease the auantity of either siie of
pipe not to ezceed 5 (five) percent.
The successful] bidder will be notified on or before January 15th, 1936, the exact
amount miff factory lengths to be shipped. Priues to be F.O.B. Pasco, delivery to be
on or abort Febuary 15th, 1936. Payment will be made by cash warrent March Fth 1936.
The Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

THE NECESSITY OF GETTING A CATERPILLAR for use on the ;i.P.A.Stre,t Project was refferred
to. A motion by Partch that the Street Commissioner be authorized to rent a
caterpillar from Conlan's Garage at $10.00 per day was seconded by O'Herin.
Motion carried.

;FEST LEWIS STREET by the construction of an undercrossing, under Tacoma Avenue,
at it's intersection with said Lewis Street, and under the tracks and right of
way of the Northern Pacific iiailway Cc; the said undercrossing to start at a point
on Levis' 96 feet east of the center line of First Avenue and continue Yhstce east
on Lewis Street under the intersection with Tacoma Avenue, and under the tracks
ani right of 'way of the Northern Pacific iailway, to a point 92 feet west of the
center line of Main otreet, according to the plans of the Highway uepartmo t of the
State of .,ashington, now on file attthe office of the City Clerk of the City of
Pasco; Providing for the acquisition, taking and damaging of land, and other pro-

Motion made by O'Herin and seconded by Haylett that Ordinance 8416 be
adopted. Notion carried on roll call.
N.P.A. SEWING CLASS: Permission for the County IY.P.A. sewing class to use part of the

Radelmiller was requested by Llagor McGee. Motion made by Partch and seconded by
O'Herin that this request be granted. Motion carried.
bPLANATION OF 0RDI14A14CE #415: A motion was made by Partch and seconded by O'Herin that
a notice be placed in the Pasco Herald by the City Clerk, explaning that the in-
junction suit brought by one man against the City of Pasco has forced the said
City to enter into dondemnation proceedings, holding up the starting of work on
the undercrossing for an indefinite period of time. Motion carried.
1DJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn was made by Haylett, and seconded by Wirth. Motion
carried. (adjourned until Friday, January 31, 1936).

that the Club be permitted to hold it's regular meetings in the Council Chambers.
