CO'."'_ITTE.: ::-PORTS: The water committee reported unfavorably on the request for city water in Gray's Amended Adlition. (See Ordinance I ::ayor McGee in:trncted the chairman of the water committee and the water manager to meet with the county commissioners to see what can be done abort paying the water b j bills of the unemployed. Councilman Haylett reported that the fixtures for the broken light pole had been �I orderdd, OHDIIJANCE: A proposed orclinance, repealing section 14 of Ordinance -','394 was read, but no action taken. 'The Liayor asked the Police committee to prepare a new ordinance relating to the r regulation of pool and billiard halls and public card rooms, to be read at the next regular meeting. A communication from the Fidelityand Deposit Co. of Earyland vras read asking for a copy of a resolution by 'he Council designating the banks the 'Treasurer may derocit in for the term 19:5_37, and a statement of his leposits and collateral. :PORTS: The police report of the traffic survey of I.larch 9, was given, showing e total of 4923 cars passing the intersection of Lewis Street and elourth during a t.:elve hour per iod. ,star ;:onager McGhee's report was read, showing a gain of 102.24 for the period from )anu ry 15, to i,'ebrnary 15. The water department also reported the installation of three fire hydrants, on the south side o' A Street., at Third, c'ifth an,l Seventh.Streets. ORDINANCE: Ordinance i:o.410, relating to the licensing and repulation of pool rand billierd halls, and public card rooms, and amending sections 6,9, 10, and 14 of Ordinance u 394, was r�rd and motion made by Haylett and seconded by Burns that the ordinance be declared to have had it's first reading. [lotion carried. :lotion was mads by Burne, seconded by „irth and carried, that tl.e ordinance be given it's second reading by title only. Ordinance read by title. Motion made by Partch, seconded by dlirth that urdinance be declared to have hhd it's second reading. Lotion carried. Pnrteh then made a motion, seconded by haylett that thr regular order of business be suspended and that Ordinance ;410 be given it's third reading. '.:otion carried by roll call. Ordinance ` 410 was then given it's third.reading and motion by Birth and seconded by Partch and carried unanimuosly on roll call that Ordinance ` 410 be decl.ar ed to have had it's third reading and passed. 3USINESS: ,firth made a motion, seconded by Anderson to grant the L-iwanis Club permission to hold their annual carnival. I-otion carried. A motion was made by Partch and ._econded by O'Herin that the clerk be instruct ed to advertise for bids for a new Police car, having 112 inch or more wheel base; also bids on the old car; with the privilege to reject any and / or all bids.
