C01I1ffiNICATIONS :
Acommunication from City Treasurer Pratt was read, asking for the transfer of
funds from the W.;7.fnnd to the P.S.''N.R. find. This was referred to the Finance Committee.
TITIONS:
Apetition signed by property pwners living along the east side of Bridge Street,
asking the City to vacvte the easterly 25 feet of said street, from the southern hound
ary of A Stru t; the 25 feet so vacated to become a part of the abutting property on flue
east side of A Street, was read and referred to the street committee, a report to be made
at the next Council meeting.
IICC EIPSES:
License applications from H.A.Shupe for a lunch room, Joe Sheley for a hmtel,and
C.M.',71ght for operating a dance hall, were read and motion made by birth, seconded by
Burns that licenses be granted. Llotion carried.

F ICE.iS REPORTS:
Water Manager McGitee's report was read, showing a gain of $267.34, for the
month of January.
The Treasurer'q monthly financial report, and the Clerk's budget reports
were presented to the Council.
ORDINANCE:
Ordinance 409, an ordinance fixing the time and place of the City Council meetings,
was read ands motion made by O'Herin, ^econded by Anderson that Ordinance r 409 be de
clared to have hod it's first reading. Carried unamimouslS, by roll call.
Motion by Partch,seconded by Burns that ordinance be given it's secodd reading by ti
title only. Lotion carried, and title read.
Motion by O'Herin was seconded by Haylett that the regular order of business be susp
ded and that the ordinrnce be given it's third reading. Motion carried by roll call.

Legislative bulletin 10 was read and discussed. Amotion war made by i1'irth and s
onde1 by O'Herin that Council indorse Bill 139, A Lhnicipal Gas Tex Bill, and that the Cl
be instructed to write to our Governor and Legislators, advising them of such action.

Upon referring to the City Treasurer's commuAication Councilmen O'Herin made a
motion which was seconded by ,7irth, that the transfer of fends from the l.iN.to the P.S.'.i
be allowed. 1.Iotion carried.
Motion .as made by Burn;,, s?condel by Anderson, that the matter of charging for td
water used at the ball park be referred to the water comittee. Motion carried.
A motion made by O'Herin to authorize the purchasing agent to buy 250feet of
Shite King fire hose was seconded by Haylett. Motion carried.
Mr. Byrd Lott addressed the Council concerning the possibilities of installing a
sewer lines in the Sixth and 6eventh, and A and B streets districts.
Councilman Anderson spoke of the danger of children roller skating on the streets
in the business districts. Discussion followed, but no action taken.

Motion was made by Partch, seconded by Burns that Council adjourn.Motion carried.
(Oriinance J'' 409 was then given it's third reading and motion was made by Partch,
seconded by Anderson, that Ordinance T409 be declared to have had it's third reading
and adopted. Motion carried by roll call.)

I;IINUTES: The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved as corrected by a
motion made by Haylott, seconded by O'Herin, to strike the paragraph from the minutes
concerninl_r the. report of the Fire Comittee. Motion carried.

C011I1Ji-ICATIONS: Acomunication from the City of Portland asking for our support of the
Bgnnevillii project ras referred to Attorney O'Brien.
After the reading of a letter from the Llartindnle Electric Co., advertising Auto_
uratic Safety Signals, the Clerk was instructed to communicate with Patrolman Carnahan,
asking him to be present at the next Regular Council meeting.
LLOENSES: A license application from Mr. Frank Leverich, accompanied by the fee of .;7.00
-the operation of twocard tables in the Oasis was rejected, owing to the fact that
at the present time there are 5 card rooms in operation; and in accordance with Orlin_
ante t 364.
C0,19ITTEZ REPORTS: The Street Comittee r:porting on the Bridge Street findings, recommended
that the s reet be cut to BO feet from property line to property line. Hirth moved to
accept the report, and O'Herin seconded.aeamx Motion carried.
Acommittee of the residents of Gray's Amend3d Addition addressed Council concern -
in,, the installation of water lines in their community. The mayor instructed the
;Nater Committee to investigate the situation and report at the next council meeting.
New Business: Amotion made by OIH6hin madxxkg that a transfer from the C. E. fund in
su ?'dent amount to allow taking up two ,,j1000.00 Light Bonds, be referred to the
Finance Committee with power to act, was seconded by ''Wirth. Motion carried.
Amotion was made by girth and seonded by O'Herin that the Clerk inform the

and labor on the city pump, to the Pse co Machine Co., and issue a new warrant.
