Motion made by Wirth, seconded by Skinnell and carried that Haylett act as mayor pro tem. CLAIIJS AGAINST THE CITY WERE READ AS FOL1017S and motion was made by Wirth, seconded by Skinnell a.hd carried on roll call, that the bills be allowed and warrants be drawn fur the same: WARRANT NOS. CURRENT EXPENSE 11279 Fred Smith, labor Park Dept. _ _ _ 3.25 11277_79_90 to 11291 Pay roll of Street Dept. for labor repairing streets 190.00 11292 L. B. A-tterbury, labor, City Hall _ _ _ 9.00 11293 Gertrt,de Speier, pictures for projects _ _ 3.00 11294 P. P. & L. Co., street lights _ _ 303.80 WATER FUND 2301 P. P. & L. Co., power for pumps _ _ _ 609.51 Communications, read from General Electric Co., quoting prices of ;)116.00 per thousand feet for Parkway cables and �21.00 for light fixtures, these for use in connection with proposed park lights. Motion made by Wirth, seconded by Skinnell and carried, that the c-)mmunication be placed on file. Informally, it was stated that the Westinghouse Co. had submitted an estimate of 9"273.64 for installing eight lights. Quotation was received from Juvenal Ice & fuel Co., naming a price of w7.20 per ton for Ravensdale stoker coal and 4}6.95 per ton for finer stoker coal. The use _ of itoslyn coal was discussed and motion was made by Partch, seconded by Wirth and j carried, that the matter of coal be referred to the purchasing agent with power to act. ' Report of mater I.4anager showed net earnings of. ?1192.00 for previous month and was ordered placed on file on motion made by Haylett, seconded by Partch and carried. Report of City Clerk and Treasurer were presented, the former in typewritten form. Gus Hue presented a petition asking that he be appointed as merchant police officer, a larg,� number of merchants having signed agreement to pay him a salary for doing this; the matter was referred to the P�e upon motion made by Partch, seconded by Wirth and carried.
