(Warrants11220 to 11229 inclusive cover) Olaim of Patrick O'Hara, amount "26.00, for 2(5 days days supervising transients, was discussed and ordered paid upon motion made by Burns, seconded by Wirth and carried on roll call. (4fhRRART 11229 issued to cover) APPLICATION FOR LICENSE' FOR TH,-,, REGINA STAND on 4th St., submitted by J. H. Smith was read and license was granted upon motion made by Partch, seconded by'Wirth and carried. H. E. Sandstedt spoke about replacement of rotten 4" pipe in Riverview Park and while this was discussed by the council no action was taken. INVITATION FRO -111' T;IAYOR LEONARD FUNK for meeting of Assn. of uVashington Municipalities at Spo' ane Oct. 4th and 5th was read. I:Iayor I:IcGee stated that he would be in I:ansas City at the time of the meeting and suggested that Councilman O'Herin be seat t -to atLt6nd the meeting; Hr. O'Herin in turn suggested that the City Attorney be sent., ter discussion, a motion was made by Partch, seconded by fiirth and carried, that Councilman J. F. O'Herin and Cite Attorney C. M. O'Brien be sent a.s delegates to the Spokane meeting. Letter read from the Highway Cost Commission asking for cost of city street work, amount spent for maintenance and amount spent for new streets; this was referred to the Street & Alley Committee with power to act, upon motion made by Wirth, seconded by Skinner_ and carried. WERA TORK: W. H. Pringle of the rJERA was culled in and spoke about a proposed project covering fmx five patrolmen to be p2id for by the uERA as police protect- ion account of the transient shelter established here; he stated it was proposed to plat one -five men to each wor'Ac eight hours per day for three months, the city to m€ike a contribution of ;"450., this to include supervision by the Chief of Police (esti.mated cost y300.), instructions by the Chief (cost X50.) and material furnished (cost N100.) The men would be local residents and work directly under the Chief of Police. A motion was then made by Haylett, seconded by O'Herin and carried, that the City Clerk be authorized to sign an affidavit that the city will_ furnish "100. worth of material, T'50. worth of instruction by the Chief of Police, together with supervision by the Chief at xx a value of $300.00, or total cost of "450.00. 9th STREET FROM A STREET to the Swimming Beach, .:ill require 700 yards of gravel and motion was made by O'Herin, seconded by 'Nirth xxdxxxaaiedx that the City of. Pasco will furnish 700 yards of gravel at valuation of "350.00, caterpillar and blade for 4 days, trucks for hauling gravel with necessary gas and oil for same at a cost of: x'190.00, or a. total value of "530.00 as a local contribution. Notion carried without dissent. CITY HALL: T:Zotion made byk O'Herin, seconded by ;firth and carried, that the City Clerk be authorized to make affidavit, that the city will furnish $250.00 worth of mUteria.l for repainting the City Hall and making other repairs to the building. CEMETERY : Tilotion made by 01irth, 'seconded by Partch, and carried, that the City Clerk be authorized to sign an affidavit, that the city will furnish material to the value of ; 275.00, which will be needed for buiJ_ding an addition to the sexton's residence at the cemetery and making other improvements there. "A" STREET: Matter of loc€:.1 contribution for materials in improving A Street was discussed and motion was made by Partch, seconded by Wirth, that the City Clerk be authorized to sign an affidavitcovering sufacing and grading from Lewis and Main Street, on I:iain to A Street, :kkxxx thence West on A Street from Main St. to 10th Street, and that the Street Committee be authorized to secure the xervices of the County Engineer to furnish necessaryx stakes, etc.; motion carried. AINS;VORTH AVENUE: Discussion brought out that improving Ainsworth Ave. from 10th St. to 14th, would take about 800 yds. gravel, cost $400.; blade and tractor 8 days at a cost of "90.; tools, fresnos and slips cost$100.or total cost of about$590. motion then made by Partch, seconded by O'Herin and carried, that the city would Prprove a. project to surface xxaxgxaAx Ainsworth Avenuefrom 10th Street, West to 14th Ntreet, at a. cost of $590.00 for gravel and material, and city clerk be instructed to sign an affidavit to that effect. TRANSIT BELONGING TO THE CITY which had been loandd to Francis Jones, vlallula, for use bya T.Ir. Collier, has not yet been returned and a motion was made by Partch, seconded by O'Herin, that the city clerk be instructed to write Francis Jones at ,fa.11ula, to have the transit returned at once, as the city needs it; motion carried. Letter read from Continental Oil Co. representative stating that they would keep gravel off the sidewalks at 3rd & Lewis Streets. Report from Plater ::_Tanager I.icGhee showed a. net profit of 91533.35 for the previous month. Byron Lampson of Kennewick who broke a. city light pole at 4th & Lewis Sts. had never replied to a letter asking that he reimburse the city for $35.00 damages and the file was referred to the City Attorney for action. CITY HALL HEATING .PLANT 71AS DISCUSSED and matter of repairs was referred to a special committee with power to act byinformal action of the council; special committee consisting of Partch, Burns and Wirth was named by the mayor.
