Regular Session _ August 21st, 1934
ROLI CALL: City council met in regular session with Councilmen Burns, Haylett,
Partch and Wirth present; motion made by Burns, seconded by Wirth and carried that
Partch act as Mayor Pro Tem. Absentees were Anderson, O'Herin, Skinnell and Mayor McGee.
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 7th were read and approved.
CLAIhIS: Following claims against Water Fund and Current Expense Fund were read
and motion was duly made by Haylett, seconded by Mirth and carried without dissent on
roll call, that the bills be allowed and warrants be drawn for the same:
WATER FUND:

Representatives of the White diver Lbr. Co., Tum A Lu.m Lbr. Co. and the
Pioneer Paper Co. were present relative to a proposal to put a new roof on the city hall_.
After hearing them, the matter of a roof was referred to the Building Committee for
consideration.
t LICENSE APPLICATIONS 711ERE READ FROM FOLLO7ING: Torn I,Iercer, 2nd hand store;
Geo.Austin Jr. & R.E.Hatch, restaurant & dancing; Frank Leverich, soft drinks &
dancing; motion made by Ilaylett, seconded by Wirth, that these licenses be granted
with the provision that Frank Leverich must show the street number of building in which
he is located; motion carried.
A license application was read from Mrs. I. S. Vaughn for dispensing soft
drinks but refused; motion was made by Haylett, seconded by Wirth, that the license
application be refused and returned to the city clerk with instructions that application
and license fee be returned to Llrs. Vaughn; motion carried.
Report of :'Dater Manager showing net earnings of $1177.20 was read and ordered ^/
filed.
Report of City Clerk was passed around.
PROJECT ON NINETH STREET which had been left unfinished when CWA work was dis_
continl?ed was discussed and motion was made by Wirth, seconded by Burns and carried
that the project be approved and that the city would furnish nexessatrucks, provided
the gravel is secured from the same source as last year.
A request having been made for water to be furnished for the new kitty ball grounds
of the transients, motion was made by Wirth., seconded by Burns, that the matter be re'ferred-
to the i'Dater Committee with power to act; motion carried.
ADJOURNi:IENT: Motion made by Haylett, seconded by mirth and carried, that the
council adjourn.
