Regular Session _ July 17th, 1934.
ROLL CALL: City council met in regular session with Mayor 1dcGee presiding and follow-
ing cpuncilmen present:' Anderson, Burns, Haylett and Wirth; absentees were O'Herin,
Parteh and Skinnell.
MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION Ha D JULY 3rd were read and approved.
CLAIMS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE WERE READ; Claim of Robt. Tobin for labor, amount
$9.60, which he assigned to J. E. Penny Co., and his claim for $20.40 which he had assigned
to Safeway Stores were discussed and it developed that Tobin owed the city $7.05 for water
which he had not paid; mQR }} n was thereupon made by Haylett, seconded by Anderson and
carried unanimously on roll `tat a warrant of $7.05 be drawn in favor of the City Treasurer
for Tobin's water account and that the balance be paidto assignees,(deduction bxbmg made from
balance paid to Safeway Store
Motion pxiil made by econded by Anderson, that the balance of current expense
claims be paid and that Tobin clChims be held up until he and his creditors make arrangement
as to who is to get the money coming to Tobin and that then the city clerk is to issue
warrants accordingly; carried on roll call. Claims read and passed were the following:

Letter read from American Nater Works Ass., asking city to join their organization
at cost of $10.00•per year; matter referred to Water Committee for recommendation and resort
at next meeting.
Report of Water Manager IilcGhee showed net earnings for the previous month of $1398.82.
Report of city clerk passed around to each councilman.
PROPOSED WORKJROGMA IS for this fall and winter were reportedon by Haylett for
O'Herin who was absent; he stated that if the city hall was to be painted the city
would have to furnish the materlal while the government furnished the labor only. Motion
was made by Haylett, seconded by Wirth, that the purchasing agent be authorized to pur-
chase material for painting the city hall; motion carried.
In connection with a project on Ninth St. gravelling the fills made last winter,
etc., it was reported that city would have to furnish gasoline and oil for trucks to
haul the gravel and motion was made by Wirth, seconded by Haylett and carried that the
city furnish the gasoline and oil necessary.
C mmunication read inviting the Chief of the Fire Dept. to a state convention
to y July 26th, 27th and 29th; motion made by Haylett, seconded by Anderson
and carried without dissent on roll call, that the fire chief be allowed 530.00 to cover
expenses attending the convention.
REVIIREIVIENT OF FUNDING BONDS: City Treasurer Pratt reported that it would be
necessary to send away 0756,25 for interest, plus $27500.00 for retirement,of &Xx xgxkXXAX
funding bonds. Haylett reported for the finance committee regarding the m_itter and then
made a motion which was seconded by Wirth, that the treasurer be authorized to make necessary
transfer from' Current Expense Fund, to enable him to retire outstanding Funding Bonds,
amounting to $27,500.00, plus $725.25 for interest, a total of $28,256.25, and using the
money now in Funding Bond Sinking fund, together with $8,000.00 secured from recent sale
of water bonds, together with above transfer from Current expense to retire such outstanding
bonds and interest, also, to offset transfer of funds from P. S. W. R. fund due to sale of
bonds in that fund, that bonds now held in the Funding Bond Sinking Fund be transferred
to the P. S. W. R. fund; motion carried without dissent.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Anderson, seconded by Wirth a .ai carried that
meeting adjourn.
