CITY COUNCIL CHANMRS
Regular Session _ June 5th, 1934
ROLL CALL: City council met in regular meeting with Mayor McGee presiding and 8.11
councilmen (except Wirth) being present.
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD May 15th were read and approved.

Another letter received from Peter Klockner relative to bonds he has holds in
LID No. 24 and was referred to the city attorney.
Petition received from Christian Science Church asking for a light at 4th & Shoshone
and was ereferred to Water 9, Light Committee for investigation and report.
Letter fl•om N. P. Ry., asked for easement and permission to run a sewer across
city property from Yard & Freight Office to connect with sewer in alley of Block 4.
Motion made by Haylett, seconded by O'Herin, that the N. P. be granted permission for
such sewer, the city attorney to draw up easement providing for crossing Tacoma St. end
the city property; motion carried.
Petition from C. M. May, et al, asked for irrigation of trees on South side
of Shoshone St. and motion was made by O'Herin, seconded by Anderson, that it be referred
to the Water Committee for investigation and report at the next meeting; carried.
A petition signed by I.Irs. Berthan Hawker and 19 others, asked that something be
done towards improving 10th St., North of Lewis to Yakima, account dust being raised by
Brown's gravel trucks and this was referred to Street Committee for report at next meeting.
Mr. Colyer of Burbank, asked that the city loan him the transit, chains, etc.
owned by the city; discussion brought out that Francis Jones and Ed Horriga.n had recommended
this and motion was made by Partch, seconded by O'Herin and carried, that tkux permission
be given to Francis Jones to borrow the instruments, the understanding being that I�Ir.
Jones would be resposible for their return.
LICENSE APPLICATIONS WERE READ from 1. W. Bucklyn for soft drinks at 10th & W ash.
and Mrs. Dora Townsend for ^ restaurant on Lewis; motion made by O'Herin, seconded by Skinnell
and carried, that license be granted.

RESOLUTION COVERING GOLF COURSE: Resolution previously adopted did not agree
with description of property in deed and a revised reolution as follows was read:
BE IT RESOLV'"D by the City Council of the City of Pasco, that the deed of
Franklin County Irrigation District No. 1 to the City of Pasco, dated Feb. 8th. 1934,
to the following described land, situate in the County of Franklin, Sate of Washington,
to—wit:
E1 of the NW4i EL of W� of NW -!J SW-T1ofthe SW -3j7 the NW4; W� of the NB—,I; all
that land in the NE-41of
the NE4 lying southerly and Westerly of State Highway No.3,
known as the Inland Empire Highway, Section 34, Township 9 North, Range 30, E.W.M.
The lands are located within Franklin County ]Urrigation District No. 1 and there is
reserved from said lands, a right of way for ditches, canals, pipe lines, flumes
and other irrigation works, constructed by authority of Franklin County Irrigation
District No. 1
BE AND THE SAIF IS HEREBY ACCEPTED, the said lands to be utilized for park and
playground purposes."
Motion made by Partch, seconded by Haylett and carried that the resolution be
adopted as read.
A resolution authorizing the city to join the Assn. of Washington Cities was
read and motion made by O'Herin, seconded by Skinnell, that the city of P asco join
this association and that the city clerk be authorized to issue a warrant for the
proper fee: carried on roll call without dissent. (WARRANT No. 11071 included above
covers).
NEW TIRES FOR FIRE TRUCK WERE ORDERED PURCHASED upon motion made by O'Herin, second-
ed by Anderson, and carried on roll call without dissent.
Matter of driveways for garages on 10th St. was referred to Street Committee
with power to act upon motion made by O'Herin, seconded by Skinnell.
Councilman Partch was excused at this point.
Matter of new mattresses forthe city jail was left in th-e hands of the Purchasirg
Agent. '
Disccussion of awnings and signs extending over the sidewalks caused this to
be referred to the city attorney, who will bring in an ordinance to cover.
No objection was made to the Mayor granting the Kiwanis Club permission to rope
off Second St. for their carnival to be held the end of June.
RENT OF C. W. A. Quarters in Mrs. Gray's 1ruilding was again discussed and
motion was made by O'Herin, seconded by Anderson, that previous action of the city
council be reconsidered (action taken April 17th) in regard to Mrs. Gray's rent and
that $40.00 be paid to Mrs. Gray for use of quarters by the C. W. A.; roll call ordered
and showed Ayes, Anderson, Burns, O'Herin and Skinnell; Noes-,•Haylett. Motion
declared carried 4 to 1. WARRANT No. 11073 covers)
ADJOURNMENT: Motiog made by Skinnell, seconded by O'Herin, that meeting
adjourn; carried.
