ROLL CALL: City council met in regular session with following councilmen pres- ent: Burns, Partch, Skinnell and Wirth; absent were Mayor McGee, Councilmen Anderson, Haylett and O'Herin. In the absence of Mayor McGee, Councilman Partch was chosen as mayor pro tem. MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION HELD May lst were read and approved. CLAIMS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE AND WATER FUND WERE READ AS FOLLOWS, and motion was made by Wirth, seconded by Skinnell that the bills be allowed; roll call showed all voting for the motion: CURRENT EXPENSE: 10997_11012 Special Street Dept. pay roll acct. work on 10th S t. 44.90 11013 C. Co., power for pumps _ _ _ 4.78.04 2203 Standard Oil Co., gasoline _ _ 3.76 507.37 Application of Clarence Sager for position of street employe was referred to Street Supt. APPLICATION OF FRANK HOWE FOR A LICENSE TO PEDDLE fruit and vegetables was read and motion was made by Wirth, seconded by Skinnell and carried that the license be granted. Dr. M. Hull was present and stated that the golf club was anxious to furnish Franklin County Irrg. District with a xx copy of resolution adopted by the council, which would agree as to description of land with description in deed; referred to City Attorney, who said he would arrange for new resolution. City Treasurer Pratt advised the council that he had communications -from Donald F. Brown & Co., Denver and Harold Huston, Seattle, askinthe city if they would purchase funding bonds, each claiming to have a block of 910,000. After discussion, motion was made by Wirth, seconded by Skinnell and carried without dissent on roll call, that the city treasurer be authorized to k buy a total of $20,000.00 of funding bonds at par or less, plus accrued interest, this increasing the amount mentioned in the resolution adopted March 9th, 1934, by 05,000.00. Report of Water Manager McGhee showed gross earnings for the previous -month of $3174.90, expenses $1100.65 plus $1570. transferred to sinking fund, leaving net profit of $504.85 for the month. City clerk's report in typed form was furnished to councilmen. Report of ~later Manager ordered filed. SALE OF WATER BONDS: During discussion of retirement of outstanding funding bonds, councilmen were of the opinion that by selling some of the water bonds held by the city and transferring bonds now carried as investments in the funding bond sinking fund to the water sinking fund, the city would be able to reture the bonds when due. A motion was made by Wirth, seonnded by Skinnell and carried without opposition, that the City Treasurer be authorized to selly?8,000. of water bonds now being h::ld at par and accrued interest, these bonds to be $4000. maturing Nov. 1.935m 2000. maturing Nov. 1.937 and $ 2000. maturing in Nov. 1939. The matter of claim of Robt. Tobin, amount $4.90, account Warrant No. 11003, being held for water owed by him, was brought up and 'later Dept. stated that Tobin owed the city a little over •-7.00 and that therefore he had asked that the warrant be held up. City Attorney stated that he saw no reason why the city could not do this. There will be a balance of +.3.00 due for funeral expenses of Robt. Towne, former Street Dept. employe and suggestion was made to the council that the city might properly, in view of Towne's efficient and faithful service, pay what was due in his burial expense, as the family was without funds . A motion was then made by Skinnell, seconded by Wirth, that the City Clerk be instructed to make out a warrant for $43.00 to pay part of the funeral expense of Robt. Towne, in vie�7 of his excellent record with the city, warrant to be made payable to the Lee Perry Co.; motion carried unanimously on roll call. (Warrant No. 11017 issued to cover.)
