ROLL CALM: City council met in regular session with Mayor Pro Tem Anderson presiding and following councilmen present: Anderson, Burns, H aylett, O'Herin, Partch, and Wirth; absdnt Skinnell; Mayor McGee was out of the city. MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING APRIL 3rd and special meeting on April 11th were read and approved. CLAIMS AGAINST VARIOUS FUNDS WERE READ AS FOLLOWS and motion made by Partch, seconded by Wirth, that bills be allowed and warrants drawn for the same; carried on roll call without dissent. CLAIM OF MRS. A. P. Gray, for $60.00 for three months rent for offices used by C. W. A. and N. R. S. organizations was read and discussed. Mr. O'Herin stated that since OK'ing the voucher for $60.00 he had learned that the N. R. S. would pay one month's rent, leaving a balance of $40.00 still due, which he recommended be paid in view of the large amount of work done by the C. W. A. Motion made by Partch, seconded by O'Herin, that the bill k for $40.00 be paid, was lost on roll call, the vote being three to three as follows: Ayes, Anderson, O'Herin and Partch; Noes, Burns, Haylett and Wirth. Communication read from I. F.'Webster of the Union S ervice Station at 4th & bonneville asking that he be permitted to make changes in curbing; matter referred to the Street Committee for investigation and report. letters read from Gov. Martin and T:-lessrs. Dillon and Ernst regarding the change from a rural to an urban status requested byk Pasco, Mr. Dillon stating he would be in the city to meet with the Welfare Committee. Matter of changes at the pump house for a more eeeon6mical operation of pumps discussed and motion made by Wirth, seconded by Partch, that the Water Com- mittee be given until the next meeting to investigate further and make a report to the council; motion carried. LAWN MOWER FOR PARKS: Messrs. Sanderson and Schuneman of the Parks Dept. asked the council for authority to seenre a new lawn mower at a cost of approximately $300.00, as the $90.00 in this year's budget was not sufficient to enable them to get one. Motion made by O'Herin, seconded by Partch, that the Park Board be advised that there will be provision made in the 1935 budget to pay the additional cost of a power lawn mower, over the $90.00 which is now available; motion carried without dissent. PURCHASE OF FUNDING BONDS: O'Herin brought up the matter of purchasing $10,000.00 of the city's refndding bonds, due in August, stating that the bonds could be secured but that the holders wanted $101.00 for them, or At a $1.00 premium. He pointed out the fact that the city had $37,000.00 (approximmtely) in the bank and only security for about $25,000.00 and recommended that the bonds be purchased. Motion was finally made by Burns,- seconded by Wirth, that the matter be passed up until the next meeting of the council, to be taken up when attorney was present. Motion carried.
