CO` NCTI, Adjourned Session Cl�l�r.3LJn1.� September 26th, 1933 ROLL CALL: Pursuant to agreement, the city council met in adjourned session with Mayor Pro Tem presiding and following councilmen present: Anderson, Burns, Haylett, Partch, Skinnel.l and 1;7irth; absent O'Herin. Mayor McGee came in after roll call was completed. S REOLUTION APPOINTING CITY CLERK TO HANDLE Iv7ATTERS BETWEEN CITY AND GOVER14111IPfT ON FILTRATION PLANT MATTERS: The following resolution was read: "BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PASCO: That Gertrude Speier, the duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of Pasco, be and 'is hereby instructed and authorized to apply for a loan and grant from the public works administrator under the National Industrial Removery Act in the amount of 0100,000. for and on behalf of the City for the purpose of building a filtration plant for the Pasco IVIunicipal Water System and the making of other improvements and additions to said system. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That Gertrude Speier be and is further authorized and iftriKaku directed to execute and deliver to the Federal Emergency Administrator of Public Works at Olympia., and/or any other proper or appropriate governmental officer or agent, any and all data, exhibits and instruments which may be proper or necessary in connection with said application for loan and grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the City Council of the City of Pasco does hereby approve said project and that if such application is granted or approved, the City will take such further steps necessary orpprper to be taken to provide for the issua.nco of the public utility bonds in such sum or sums not exceeding x,1'90,000. as the said public works administrator may agree to purchase for the financing of said project; and that the City will take all necessary and proper steps for the submitting to the electors of said City the matter of the authorization of such bonds in the said sum or such other sum as shall be necessary to carry out the conditions -of said application." ���se�xax�ppxxx� Adopted by the City Council of the City of. Pasco, ';dash., this 26th day of September, 1933, by the following vote: Aye 6; 14ay 0. Roll call was ordered on motion made by Haylett, seconded by Wirth, that the resolution. be adopted as read; roll call showed all .members of the council voting for the motion. A letter from the Washington Construction League was read, inviting the mayor and other officials to attend a meeting at ;'Ja.11a 'Ja.11a Sept. 29th at which to present the water system improvement's and filtration plant to members of the Pmblic '0dorks Board. letters referred to the city attorney. BUDGET: Clerk advised the council that the assessed valuation was this year was w1,494,469., as compared with .'1'1,578,002 for 1932, a loss of 083,534. This would mean that on a levy of 15 mills, taxes would yie d 41'22,417. for current expense gnd general city government, while for retirement of bonds and interest six mills would yield 08,964., making total of 031,391. for a.21 mills levy. The levy for this year when made a year ago was 23F mills. The council made a number of cuts in the preliminary budget, these opts amounting to 476518. ADJOURNI°IENT: I3otion made by Anderson, seconded by Haylett that the meeting adjourn; motion carried. Council adjourned and wax their attention was called to the fact that a special meeting was required by la -w for the first Monday in October (Oct. 2nd) at which the final biid-et for 1934 would have to be adopted.
