'ROLL CALL: Pursuant to agreement the city council met in
adjourned session with Mayor
McGee presiding and following councilmen present: Anderson,
Burns, Haylett, Partch,
O'Herin, and Skinnell; absent Mirth.
Minutes of meetings July 18th & 25th were read and approved.
CLAIMS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE WERE READ AS FOLLOWS and motion was made O'Herin, seconded
by Skinnell that the bills be paid; roll call showed unanimous vote for the motion:

In connection with claim of Empire Electric Co., x'85.06. motion was made by O'Herin,
seconed by Skinnell, that amount of 4741.75 shown as expense making survey for the city
be stricken and that Empire Electric Co. be advised. Motion carried and another motion
was then made by O'Herin, seconded by Anderson, that balance of bill as corrected be
allowed and roll call showed motion carried.(This is covered by Warrant. 1#10582 shown above.

APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES671" E READ FROI:1 FOLLOWING: Safeway, Becks Groc. and E. J.
Schnable, soft drinks; Geo. L. Spears, I.Irs. B.L.1.1oline, Mrs. S. Doi and Jack Crawford,
hotels: Gene McGuire and 6'1. F. Brow1mng, taxis; Pearle Kempe for restaurant and direct
dealer. Motion was made by O'Herin, seconded by Skinnell that licenses be granted;
motion carried.
Letter from Bank of Commerce to the Cit yy Treasurer, was read, advising the
treasurer, that,the bank was willing to put up 45,000. collateral in Pasco ��`ater Bonds
and tendering him the bonds, this for security of city funds.
FILTERING PLANT: Communication read from E. Id. Grime, Engineer of ;later Service
of the N. P. stating that while the railroad was satisfied to get along with present water,
that it was not their idea to stand in the way of public improvements and that if the
city went ahead ±xx with construction of a filtering plant, he vrould recom-end to the
company that it pay .03425per thousand gallons for water secured from the city. A letter,
was also read from Baar & Cunningham, stating that a 4 million gallon plant would cost
approximately ;80,000. and a. three million gallon plant would cost about ',$67,500.; they
recommended construction of the larger plant and asked for early decision by the council.
Motion was made by O'Herin, seconded by Partch, that the council authorize the
engineers to make application to the government for a loan of y',M,000.; motion carried
una.nim1usly on roll call.
NEW HOSE: New fire hose was purchased from Howard Cooper Corporation, a
motion being made by O'Herin, seconded by Anderson, that the city purchase 200 ft. of "White
King" fire hose and motion was carried unanimously on roll call.
ADJOURNMI11NT: Motion made by Partch, seconded by O'Herin, that meeting adjourn;carried.
