WATEIR FILTRATION PLANT ENGINEER TO BE HIRID: Tetters were received from four of five
engineering firms who had been written and asked to submit a contract covering preliminary enCineer_
ing viork. Only two submitted proposals, these being; Baar & Cunningham and Stevens & Koon of
Portland'and both proposed to do preliminary work for 400.00 and if Liven final work, would charge
5% zof the cost of the plant, however h1r. 3. E. Zoon called attention in'a letter to the verbal
proposition he had previously made which was that they would charge "200.00 for preliminary work
if given the entire engineering work; after the proposed construction of the plant had approved
by the voters and the government finance corporation.*They would charge 5% but not to exceed
$1500.00, for doing ,).,ll engineering work and the 4200.00 paid for doing preliminary work would be
deducted from the 31500.00, covering total enr_ineering cost.
