ROLL CALL COUNCIL JIEETING CALLER TO ORDER BY Y-Jayor IJcGee with following council-
men present: Anderson, Bungs, Haylett, Partch and Wirth; absent O'Herin and Skinnell."
MINUTES of meetings April 4th and 7th were read and approved.
CIAIJ,RS : Following claims were rend and motion was made by Partch, seconded by Anderson
that, the bills be allowed and warrants drawn for the same; roll call showed all voting for
the motion:

A communication wa.s received frim the Unemployed Organization asking that work be
more equally divided a.nd...that married Ten be given preference over single men; motion made
b -y Haylett, seconded by Nirth, that the communication be referred to the committeemen from
the council on the RFC board with power to act; carried.
LICENSE _'iPPLICATIO11 READ from Harry A. Ya.mouchie for a soft drink license and
licensewa.s granted on motion made by Anderson, seconded by Wirth and carried.
Communication read .from Shibley Co., asking; for more information regarding water
system and was ordered placed on file.
,iter Committee was not ready to report regarding 10% penalty on unpaid bills and
Finanoe Committee had no report yet regarding salary of treasirer being split between
eater and Cta.rrent• expense fends and dere given more time.

City Atjy. O'Brien, advised th., council he heal written owners. of property which fire
chief had recommended 'bg?, rer.,aired or taken down and had received replies from three of them.
Contract of Union Oil Co. for gasoline at 14.4 cents per gallon was submitted with
minimum requirements cut out and mayor was authorized to sign the contract upon motion
to that effect made by Ha.ylett,.seconded by Burns and carried on rol-1 call.
Clerk called attention to registration books being needed for permanent registration
commencing Sept. 1st end which had not been bucketed for and asked council how they wanted to
pay for the books: council instructed clerk informally that city would pay for the books
after the first of next year, but that if funds were available this year, theL. would pay for
them before that time.
Mr. Landt, representing the Chamber of Commerce was present in reg-a.rd to men congre-
gating at Tacoma and 'Lewis St. and asked that something be done; after discussion, motion
was made by Haylett, seconded by Partch, that the chairman of the Street Committee meet with
committee of the Chamber of Commerce to see what could be done; motion carried.
