301,L CALL: Pursuant to �,greement, the city council met in adjourned session
with I•. ayor TJcGee 'presiding and folloaing councilmen present: Burns, Haylett, O'Herin,
Partch and .firth; absent were Anderson and Skinnell.
Minutes of meet Ings held T;Iarch 7th and 9th were read and approved.
'CLAI1,IS: Following cl,_,ims aca.inst Current Expense Fund and ':;iter Fund were read
and motion was made by Partch, seconded by Ha, !lett that they be allowed and warrants be
drawn for the same; roll call showed all voting for the motion.

APPlICATIOIIS FOR LICENSE FOR SOFT DRINK ESTABLISHIaTEETS were read from Shure &
Howton, Triple = stand and A. H. Avery for 109 Tacoma St. Motion made by 47irth,
seconded by Partch and carried, that the license be granted..
R. B. LEE WAS PRESENT ADD SPO E ABOUT CEIIETERY IIATTERS; first he stated that
his records indicated that J. H. Perry had overpaid for his lots in the cemetery and
that he was entitled to a refund of �',)30.00. He then stated that he hid handled
cemetery matters for a long time without compensation and asked to be relieved of the
work, suggesting that the sexton be given charge of sale of lots, etc. Tdotion made
by Wirth, seconded by:b Fartch and carried that the matter be referred to the Street &
Alley Committee with power to act.
The Finance Committee was given an extension of time to make a report relative
to charging half of eh treasurer's salary to the �7ater Dept.
RELATIVc, TO THE 10% PENALTY DUE ON 'MATER BILLS LJ14PAID ON THE 10th of each month
former treasurer (A.TI.Johnson) being present, stated that it had been found impossible
to collect the penalty in all. cases. water Committee was given more time in which to
prepare a report in :regard to this.
CLERK• 7IAS INSTRUCTED TO WRITE TIIE H &DS OF ALT DEPART' EljTS, that the Purchasing
Agent must be consulted before buying anything in the future.
Reports of clerk in typed form and report of treasurer for month of February
were passed around.
Report of ;;later Manager, showing a loss of 'x99.51 for the previous month was read
and ordered filed.
WATER FILTERING SYSTEM: The question of filtering city water was ^Aiscussed,
it bein? thouab.t that the city might be able to dispose of their bonds to the Recon2truct_
ion Finance Corporation, should it prove possible to construct s',ich a plant. Hotion
made by ',Yirth, seconded by O'Herin, that the mayor appoint a special com:;iittee of three
to look into -the matter - of a filtering system and make a report to the council at its
next meeting. The motion carried and the mayor appointed Partch, O'rierin a.nd Haylett
on the committee.
O'Herin brought up matter of scrip and the mayor stNted that the issuing of
scrip had been called off temporarily since the F. C. money for work had become
xxxx available.
BEER: T:ia.tter of rerulati-ons regarding 3.2% beer was discussed and motion was
madd by O'Herin, seconded by Partch, that the mayor appoint a. committee -of three to
investigate ±hgxxmx±.±xgx. this problem, the distribution and licensing; of beer, and that
they endea.v6r to work in conjiincti.on with a co,imittee from the Kennewick city council
and report at the next meetinry. I.Iotion carried and Tla.yor ':cGee'ap.nointed the Police &
License committee to handle the assignment.
X30.00 due J. H. Perry, will be refunded, in accordance .-with the motion made
by Partch, ._econded by Haylett and carried, the motion being that refund would be made
upon presentation of proper voucher signed by I.Ir. R. B. Lee.
Tlotion made by ;Tirth, ;> econded by Partch, that necessary expenses be paid to
any member of the committee using his car for a. trip to iienn.tchee to ire:- ,�r;tic-€te' the
filtering plant there, this expense to be paid by the '17ater Dept.; carried.
