Regular Session May 3rd, 1932.
ROLL CALL: City Council met in regular session; Councilman O'Herin elected as
mayor protem in the abeence of Mayor IslcGee and P. E• "nderson. Roll call shoved following
members present: Burns, H aylett, O'Herin, Skinnell and Wirth; absentees were Anderson
and Partch .
MINUTES OF MEETINGS ON APRIL 19th and 21st were read and approved.
LICENSE APPLICATION READ FROM J. A. PATRICK to operate restaurant; motion made by
Wirth, seconded by Skinnell that license be granted; carried.
Cokmunication read from First Security & Loan Co., Yakima, authorizing the city to
tear down the warehouse owned by them on Fifth Street, South of Columbia under supervision
of the Street Dept., those tearing down the building to have material s&1vC-�ged,if any.
Ordered placed on file.
BILL BOARD AT THIRD & COLUMBIA: Attention was called to condition of billboard
at Third & Columbia Sts., it being in bad shape. Motion made by Wirth, seconded by Skinnell
/fthat the matter be referred to the Streetx & Alley Committee with power to act; carried.
Wirth reported for License Committee that they were not yet ready to report
regarding revised license ordinance.

lots asked .for by Mrs. Gray at the cemetery (Graves 1 to 6 inclusive in ktaxk Lot 12 of
Block 6) to be used for grave and monument .for forme r Mayor Gray, after some discussion,
motion was made by Skinnell, seconded_by Haylett, that the city clerk be instructed to
write to Mrs: Gray, -that the council has never taken any action to set aside the six graves
in Block 12 in the cemetery, as a.site for a.monument to an "unknown soldier" and that the

Mt. Burns informed the council -tha,t' he had had a light installed on the
new 'city lots, as"material yeas "ba ng" accummul4ted'the re and asked that the council
a.pppove of the -action. 'Motion made by-Skinaell, seconded by Wirth and carried,
that'*the city clerk be instructed to write to 'the P. P. & L. Co.', that it would be
satisfactory for them to install a light as requested by Mr. Burns.
Manager McFarland asked permission to get away to attend the meeting of
the N. W; Section of the Amkrican Water Works Assn., at their convention at`4enatchee
May 12th, 13th and 14th. Motion made by Ha.ylett, seconded by Skinnell, that the
Water Manager be authorized to attend the convention and that the Nater Dept. pay
his expenses.
'ADJOURNMENT: Motion made by Skinnall, seconded by Ha.ylett that the meeting
adjourn; motion carried.

Regular Session _ May 17th, 1932.
On account of lack of a. quorum council meeting was adjourned until 8 PPS,
May 17th. Meeting was again adjourned on Lay 17th account no quorum being
present until regular meeting set for June 7th.
