Regular session _ _ October 20th, 1931.
ROLL CALL: City council met in regular session with following members present;
and Mayor Gray presiding: Anderson, Johnson, Meyer and Wirth; absentees were McGee, RaE
Partch and Skinnell.
MINUTES -OF SPECIAL SESSION HELD OCTOBER 5th AND REGULAR MEETING ON OCTOBER 6th
were read and approved.
CLAIMS: Following claims against Currekt,. expense and t'ilater Fund were
read and motion was made by Meyer, seconded by Anderson that bills be allowed and warrants
be drawn for the same; roll call showed all voting in favor of the motion;
CURRENT EXPENSE:
9428 Pacific Power & Light Co., - street lights, etc. 286.15
9429 Roy 0. Eaton, labor kalsomining and sizing jail office 7.00
9430_9443 Fire. Dept. payroll for September & part of October _ 115.00
WATER FUND: TOTAL 409.15
1504 Pacific Power & Light Co., for power _ _ _ 450:86
REPORTS OF OFFICERS: Report of clerk in typed form furnished each councilman;
report of treasurer passed around; report of Water Manager showing net profits of
$1311.67 was read and ordered filed.
Petition read from Ivlerlin Cooney and Lyle Cooney asking that Ordinance No. 390
he -amended so as to permit buses to stop for loading and unloading passengers outside
of a restricted downtown zone. Merlin Cokney suggested that the restricted zone in which
buses were not to stop be the district extending from Tacoma St. to Eighth Street on
Lewis and from Columbia St. to Shoshone St. on Fourth. After discussion, motion was
made by Anderson, seconded by Wirth, that the petition be referred to the Police
Committee for investigation and report at the next regular meeting. Motion carried
without dissent on roll call.
A. M. JOHNSON RESIGNED AS COUNCILMAN AT LARGE: Mr. A. M. Johnson presented
his re ignation to be effective at the close of the meeting stating that his work being
from 4 PM to midnight, he was unablemt to give the office, the attention he would like
to give it. Action on his resignation was deferred until the next meeting of the council.
W. E. BURNS APPOINTED ON RELIEF COMMITTEE: Mayor Gray expressed unwillingness
to serve on the relief committee and appointed W. E. Burns to act in his stead and to
represent the city,_ The appointment was confirmed by the council.
PAITING WATER TANK: Water Manager McFarland informed the council that he
had received a bid of 02060.00 for repai"ting the water tank from the General Paint
Corporation, this covering painting inside and out. No definite action was taken,
altho understanding was that Mr. McFarland would investigate the matter further and
possibly advertise for bids to do the work.

ROLL CALL: Account no quorum being present, meeting was adjourned,,until 8 PM,
November 5th. Those present were Mayor Gray, Councilmen Meyer and Wirth.
