CITY COUNCIL CRAIMRS
Regular Session _ August 4th, 1931.
ROLL CALL: City council met in regular session with Mayor Pro Tem McGee
presiding and .following members present: Councilmen McGee, Meyer, Partch and Wirth;
absentees were Anderson, Johnson and Skinnell..
MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION HMD July 21st -were read and approved.
CLAIMS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE: Following claims'againat Current Expense
Fund were read and motion was made by Partch, seconded by Wirth, that bills be paid;

LICENSE APPLICATIONS WERE READ FROM FOLLOWING: W.D.Pence, hotel, soft drinks
and restaurant; hotels, Joe Sheley Mrs. A.F.Petty, L. L.Draucker; restaurant Mrs.Alex
Louden; vegetables, N.W.Wernett; soft drinks, J.Collinsworth; motion made by Partch
seconded by btafta Meyer, that licenses be granted; carried without dissent on roll call.
AUSTIN TAXI LICENSE DENIED: Application read from J.L.Slaybaugh to operate
a taxi, using an Austin car; application not approved by Police Committee and motion
was made by Wirth, seconded by Meyer, that license be not granted and that $1.00 license
fee be returned to applicant. Roll call showed all voting for the motion.
CROSSING SIGNS: Communication from city clerk listed 20 crossings at which the
State Public -Works Dept. had instructed that signs be placed; motion made by Partch,
seconded by Wirth, that clerk be instructed to order the signs; carried.
Reports of Police Judge and B1dg.Inspector were read and ordered filed.
Clerk asked regarding calling for bids for coal; was instructed to find out
whether gas would be available this winter and report next meeting.
Sheley's request for a parking place in front of Pence Hotel was not acted
upon, as council stated request should come from Pence Hotel proprietors, before being
considered.
