ITINUTES OF I41,EETII;G OF JUNE 2nd and adjourned session June 6th were read and approved. BUS LINES FILL ALT;;%1,!,iTIV_:. PROPOSITINT: L. D. Conrad of the Yakima Mlotor Coach Co., was granted permission to address the council and read a lengthy argument support- ing the plea of the bus comnani.es for permission to unload passengers in front of the Pasco and Pence Hotels. He also submitted an alternative petition signed by his company, the Union Pacific Stages, Inc. and I..rs. J. B. Crain of the Cunningham Hotel, asking that buses be permitted to unload passengers in front of that hotel on Lewis a,.d Tacoma Streets. After submitting their argument, the bus company representatives left. Taylor, soft drinks; -',.P.Sylveste-r Tripe XXX stand, soft drinks; Stamiard & Golden, soft drinks and -rooming house. HcGee reported for Street Committee that IIr. Warden had informed him that building next to Lee Perry Co. which was burned was to be revuilt but that the plans of rebuilding did not comply with requirements; if owners did not decide to rebuild properly, the old building mould be torn down. Police Committee reported that they hoped to be able to introduce a, truck ordinance in the near future. UNION OIT, CO. TO Fli NIS.H GAS. The contracts for uasoline to be furni:;,hed to the city for one year from June 26th were trone over, the price of the Union Oil Co. being 1 cent per Gallon less than the bid of Standard and Shell Companies. Motion made by Johnson, seconded by Anderson, that the bid of the Union Oil Co. at - rrKx19 cent,. per gallon be accepted as loriest and best bid; roll call showed following vote, Ayes, Anderson, Johnson, :,cGee a.nd i.'eyor; Noes, Partch, Skinnell and firth. BUS COI.IPAIN PETI'iION: The council discussed the petition of the bus coripanies for privilege of loading and unloading at certain points and motion was made by Partch, seconded by Skinnell, that the petition of the bus companies be rejected and that the city clerk be instructed to varite the bus companies aloha the lines of a letter previous- ly read by the city attorney. This letter after advising bus companies that their petition had been denied, suraested to them that after they had installed a. bus depot, if they would then appear before the council with a request to amend Orolmnance I,o.390 so as.to permit them to stop going to or from such depot, that the council would Hien probably grant them permission to make such stops en route. Roll call showed all members of the council voting for the motion. City Clerk was instructed, upon motion made by Partch, seconded by Anderson, to advise the Library Board, that their budget had been cut "100.00 to take care of their item of estimated receipts. CIiAI:I.BE R OF C011!.1ERCi', TO HANDLE COIJCESSIONS JULY 4th. The Chamber of Commerce was granted a blanket concession for the July 4th celebration, upon motion made by Johnson, seconded by ..nderson, all concessions for that day to be handled by the civic committee of the Chamber of Commerce.
