APPLICATION OF GEO. T. AUSTIN FOR License to operate pool hall was read; motion
made by _:inderson, seconded by ;firth, that license be granted; carried.
REPORT OF V;ATE ' I.1AU11GER, showing net profit of x'709.79 was read, aldo report of
Police Judge; both orderedgiled.
BUS I EIJ FILED PETITION: L. D. Conrad of the VvIashington I:Iotor Coach Co.,
R. A. Theis of the Union Pacific Sta.-es and J. H. Rosenberg of the Colurlbia Gorge Coach
System presented a petition to the council sinned by them and endorsed by E. J. Reynolds
and -,l. D. Pence, aski,',- the council to set :.side space for motor coaches in front of
the Pence Hotel and Pasco Hotel buildings. Dtirinn the course of the discussion which .follow_
ed, Skinnell and Johnson were excfased. -Bus representatives claims they could not
install a. terminal but were Millin- to pay te2h per cent of gross receipts to anyone who
would put one in. Before leaving, I.Ir. Theis asked ,zhther, if they installed a drive-in
place down town and the city zoned down town streets, the city would permit buses to
stop to load and unload passengers out"ide of the zoned area.. Upon motion made by
-firth, seconded by '.Teyer, the matter was made a special order of business to be considered
at the adjourned meetinn of the council to be held Saturday, June -Oth.
