ROLL CALL : City council met in reg ular sessi on with I,Iayca Gray presiding and following members present: Johnson, TdcGee, I,Ieyer, Skinnell and IJirth; absent were Anderson and Partch. I;Iinutes of regular session held January 6th were read and approved. CLAII.IS AGAINST CURRENT EXPENSE: Following clai:_s against current expense fund were read and motion was made by McGee, seconded by I.Ieyer, that bills be paid; roll call showed all voting for the motion: U -; -, 9�1 P. Communication read from Peter Kloeckner, Idilwaukee, relative to bonds he held in LID #24, bonds 74, 75, 76; no action taken. Communication read from Cox Investment Co., quoting prices on propert and liability insurance In city cars; for six cars premiums would be, liability .,54.00 and property 5'346.00. E. T. Churchman being present, he was informed that city was operating only five cars and he advised the council that for five cars, premiums mould be 08.00 for property insurance and y`45.00 for liability insurance. Motion made by IvIcGee, seconded by IVirth, that the matter be referred to the Public Property Committee with power to act, in order to take advantage of these figures if rates were raised Jan. 25tH., as anticipated. Roll call showed all voting for the motion. Report of librariah read. CITY ATTORNEY RENDERED Ali OPINIOII TO THE COU11CIL quoting Section 5493 of Pierce's Code, to the effect that each of the members of the board was appointed for a five year period, one being appointed each year and one term expiring each year. This brought up action of Library Board in appointing a married woman as librarian for discussion. Mayor Gray THEN RE_APPOIIdTED C. L. BOOTH, SUPT. OF SCHOOLS, AS A 1,=Bj!2 OF THIS LIBRARY BOARD TO SUCCEED HIIISELF , Booth's term having expired Dec. 31st, 1931; motion made by McGee and seconded by Johnson, that the appointment be confirmed lost by a vote of three ' to two, as follows: Ayes, McGee and I.ieyer; Noes, Johnson, Skinnell, ;Mirth. Jdayor stated, that he would hold up further appointment to the board until the next meeting. C. J. Iidrick was -appointed Building Inspector by the mayor; motion made by Meyer, seconded by Mirth, that the appointment be confirmed and motion prevailed without dissent on roll call.
