Regular session . September 16th, 1930.
ROLL CALL: The city council met in regular session with Mayor Gray presiding;
councilmen present were as follows: I:1cGee, Ifileyer, Partch and Wirth; absentees were
Davis, Anderson and Sargent.
CLA11:11S AGAINST CURRENT E 2- ENSE : Bills of P. P. Co. for lights amounting
to $288.53 were read and motion made by Partch, seconded by ;Wirth that the bills be
allowed and warrants be drawn for the same; motion carried unanimously on roll call:
WARRANT No. 8675 issued.
Street Committee thru Partch reported relative to garage at 7th & A St., that
it could not be determined without a survey whether it wa.s an encroachment or not, but
that they would investigate further and make a report later.

Mloti on made by Meyer, seconded.- by 'Wirth, tba; t proposed Ordinance Ho' 387, being an
ordinance amending Ordinance No. 376 granting a gas franchise to R. E. Combs, -etc. 'in
that time of commencing work was extended one year, be given its first reading; motion
carried on roll call and was read. Motion made by Partch, .seconded by" McGee, that
ordinance be declared to have had its first reading; carried on roll call.
Second reading: 14otion made by Heyer, seconded by (firth, that the ordinance
be given its second reading by tie; motion carried on roll call without dissenting
vote and ordinance was read by title.
FREE HAS FOR CITY: Motion made by Partch, seconded by McGee, that a section
be added to the ordinance, that the gas company shall furnish free gas to the city hall
and library for lighting and he at ing purposes; carried unanimously on roll call.
Motion made by Partch, seconded by Wirth, that the ordinance be declared to have had
its second reading; carried yri thout dissent on roll call.
BUDQ;T CO15SIDERED: Council proceeded to consider the budget and following
appeared before the council in behalf of their department's 2M preliminary budget:
Mrs. W• F• Chute and Harry Sanstsd for the Park Board; ' isirs. E. W. Newman for the
Library Board; A. B. Hill for Street Department. IAa s. Chute asked particularly that -
if possible the extension to irrigation system at the park be kept in budget; 11r. San_
stud asked for enough money for River Park to enable the Pasco Gun Club to go ahead with
their plans for extending the water system. Mfrs. Nevnnan stated tlr.t the Library Board
were anxious that the X360.00 for -repairs to the building be left in the budget and that
if cuts dere made, some other item be reduced.
ADJOURNIrLM T: At a late hour,
that the council adjourn until Friday

ROLL CALL: Pursuant to agreement, council met in adjourned session Ath Itilayor Gray
presiding and following councilmen present: Anderson, Davis, McGee, Meyer, Partch and
Ali rth ; ab s en tai Sargent.
The council spent the evening in consideration of the budget for 1931.
BUTLER'S SALARY TO BE SPLIT MTWEEN POLICE AND 107AMR DEPARTY NTS : During the
course of discussion relative to salary paid to Demps Butler, it developed -that he , had
done considerable -uork for the Police Dept. and that in th.e. opinion of the council, his
salary for the balance of the year should be split,half to be charged to the Police
Dept, and half to the Water Dept.; chairmen of the Water and Police Committee were
to notify their .respective deTnrtmmats that Butler's name was to be carried on their
payroll accordingly.
ADJOURIT':IENT: The council having cut the budget to less than $2000.00 from the
ggg estimated -mount and the assessed valuation of the city not being available, motion
was made by'Anderson, seconded by Partch, that the council adjourn until Friday evening,
October 3rd, at ,.•:hich time they would complete the budget for adoption.
