McGee moved, seconded by Anderson, that the matter of a fence around the lavm at
the City Hall be referred to the Public Property Commit tee ; roll call showed all voting
in fav or of the m o t i. on .
The Wat er Committee was given authority to pur chase a pipe jack upon motion made
by XcGee, seconded by Andsxd;en and all concurring.
POLICE' CAR : i;Ioti on was duly made by I:IcGee, ;beconded by Anderson, that the
city clerk be instructed to advertise fora fully equipped touring car to cost not more
than $650.00, bids to be opened March 4th; roll call showed all voting fCr the motion.
McFarland stated that he estimated $2500.00 would be the cost of eliminating
a good deal of the trouble vdth freeze ups, but no action was taken by tYe council.

that the licenses be grunted; motion carried unanimously upon roll call.
REPORTS OIi COMMITTEES: Partch reported that in the matter of axes billed
a& inst the Fire Dept. by the Pasco Hardware Co., he had arranged with tIBm that
the city would pay the difference between the wholesale price and amoluat at which the
returned axes could be sold.
Fire Committee thru Partch recommended that• V. L. Pangle be sent to
Seattle to attend the fire school Lhlarch 12th and that the city pay one hu1_f of his
expenses.
Partch atm :recommended that group insurance policy be obtained from the
Commericial Casualty Co. for ten members of the O.epartment, at a' cost of $42.50,
this policy providing- for indermity of 4715.00 per week and 0"1000.00 for loss of life.
iviotior_ made by Partch, seconded by Anderson, that a policy be secured from 'the Com-
mercial Casualty Co., thru the Cox Investment Co., policy to be submitted subject to
the approval of t1B council t_thin thirty days. Carried unaimously on roll .cal 1.
Partch moved, seconded by vlirth, that V. L. Pa:ng1•e be sent to Seattle
to the fire school for three day session beginning I.larch 12th and that tIL- city payDI
one hal f of his eyp arses, not to exceed $25.00; carried unanimously on roll call.
Partch for Street Committee tecommended tint the tuo taxi companies be
given parking space at the depot, p^rallK with the curb, each to have 20 ft., beginnigg
fifty ft. from end of curb a,nd exuding North to a point 90 ft. from end of curb.
I!Iotion made by TlcGee, seconded by Anderson, that recommendation of Street Committee
be adopted; carried on roll call «rout dissenting vote.
Relative to request of E. F. Werne tt and Wm. ff. Dodd for franchise to
collect garbage, DllcGee recommended that nothing, be done to change present system and
that city permit those nav 'coll:ecting garbage to continue. Motion made by Partch,
seconded by Anderson, that report of committee be accepted and motion carried.
Lavin mmver for cemetery would cost 2xx X210.00 for a 21 inch machine and
��295.00 for a 27 inch machine, according to re;pert made by Partch for Street Committee.
Motion made by McGee, seconded by Anderson, tha.t the chairman of the Street, Alley &;
Cemetery Committee be aithorized to purchase a 18 inch out machine; roll call shooed all
voting f :r the motion.
Anderson reported for Public Property Committee as being opposed to
building a fence around lavRm at the city hall, as it would catch weeds and rubbish.
McGee brought up question of disposing of old cluster light poles and
motion aas made by Partch, seconded by 1,1cGee, that the poles be sold at a price of 5)2.50
each for all poles in excees of forty, as the city Mould keep that number for future
use, Roll call sh o Y,ed all v of ing f or t1)9 motion.
Report of treasiwer for January was passed around; wr ;ile reports of
Police Judge and Building Inspector were read and ordered filed.
Ord. x384, P. P. & L. contract: motion made by Partch, seconded by 1,1cGee,
that final .consideration of Ordinanc e #384 be postponed until signs designating dividing
lines between city and povier company property be installed. Motion carried unanimously
on roll call.
BIDS 4ME OPENED ON CAR FOR POLICE DEPARTIIa\TT : Bid read from John Gannon
on Hudson coach aTt X300.00; bid read from Pasco Auto Co. fon fully equipped Chevrolet
touring car at ?647.50. After discussion, motion was made by Mirth, seconded McGee,
that the city accept she bid of the Pasco Auto Co. as the lowest and best bid. On roll
call all voted f or the motion.

motion.
