Regular session _ September 17th, 1929.
ROLL CALL: The city council met in regular session with follovring members
present: Councilmen Anderson, Davis, lHcGee, Meyer, Partch and Wirth; Sargent arrived
later. Mayor Gray presided.

read and approved.
CLAI11S AGAINST CURRENT E.�=SE : Claim of P. P. & L. Co., ;'305.24, for street
lights, was read and motion made by Hirth, seconded by Partch, that it be paid;
roll call sho v-7ed all voting for the motion. WARRANT No. 7976 covers.
Claim of Chas. Hartzog, amount �50.20, which had been referred to the Fire
Committee at a previous meeting was reported on by Partch, who recommended that it
be. paid. Motion to that effect made by Partch, second.d.d by �-firth and roll call showed
unanimous vote for the motion. WARRANT No. 7977 covers.
(Sargent entered at this point) . -
Communications: From E. W. Landt, policy on city truck; clerk was instructed
to have Mr., Landt submit voucher.
Chamber of Commerce offered use of Christmas lights for lighting streets, while
new system leas being installed; motion made by Anderson, .seconded by 111cGee, that the
matter be referred to the chairman of street lighting committee; motion carried.
APPLICATION FOR LICENSES: Applications for licenses were read for follo,:iing :
L. L. Draucker, Denver hotel; L. Pyles, restaurant; C. E. ,darter, Cunningham Cafe;
L.L.Drau.cker, transfer of license from Club Lunch to the Kitchen; Terra Vim Co.,
medincine show 6 days; motion made by TvIcGee, seconded by Anderson, that the licenses
be granted; roll call showed all.voting for the motion
Water committee thru Partch reported that they were still working on the matter
of extending the system to Gray's East Riverside Addition.
Matter brought up relative to incorrect description of property assessed in
Ordinance No. 378 (Columbia2 St. sidewalks) and motion made by I,IcGee, seconded by
Anderson, that the matter be referred to Street Superintendent and City Attorney for
handling.
In the matter of confirming appointment of Andrew Schultz as Chief of Police,
motion was made by !JcGee, seconded by Anderson, that the appointment be confirmed;
motion carried five to tuo on roll call as follows: Ayes: Anderson, Davis, I1IcGee,
Meyer and Sargent; Noes, Partch f:,nd 101irth.
Davis called attention to matter of bank interest in treasurer's report,
asking that it be split to the various funds and then made a motion, seconded by McGee,
that the matter of interest appearing in treasurer's report be referred back to the
treasurer for correction; roll call showed all voting for the motion.
Report of city clerk in typed form was furnished each member of the council.
After discussion, motion was made by urlcGee, seconded by Anderson, that
the matter of location of new street light poles be referred to the Street Dept. to
investigate and report at the next meeting; roll call showed unanimous vote for the motion.
CITY ENGIBEER APPOINTED: Mayor Gray appointed Glen Collins as City
Engineer and inspector on the new street light, improvement. Motion made by Partch,
seconded by 1,1cGee, that the an be confirmed and roll call showed unanimous
vote in favor of confirmation.
11Iotio:6 made by Davis, seconded by Sargent, that the balance due sinking
funds from this year's tax levy, be transferred . to the proper funds from Current Expense,
$3133.71 to the City Hall sinking fund ands $536.31 to the Refunding Bond Fund; roll
cell showed all voting for the motion. TRANSFER 0.10ERS Nos. 15 and 16 issued.
Matter of extra cable for fire alarm or police telephone sustem was brought
up by Davis and -motion made by 1:IcGee, seconded by Anderson, that the matter be referred
to the Street Committee; roll call showed all voting for the motion.
Council then proceeded to consider the budget for 1930, pruning the
preliminary budget by 4;2460.69.
ADJOURNI,I,PNT : lotion made by I.icGee, seconded by Partch, that the meeting
adjourn to Saturday night, Sept. 23rd at 7 Peri to consider the budget further; motion carried.
