ROLL CML: Pursuant to agreement, the council met in adjourned session with 1lTayor tray presiding and following members present: Davis, McGee, Meyer, Partch, Sragent and Wirth.; abse-Lit : Anderson. TricGee arrived later, after first roll call. Clerk read an assignmont of -pay made by H. D. Shaw, employed in the dater Dept., providing that .6'40.00 be aturned over to L.I. L. Driscoll and balance to go to Shag to settle garnishment proceedings brought against Shaw., MaT,or had been served with the garnishment and said that he would not •sign the checks until he had been served with a release. In order to permit of payment, motion - was n-zde by Beyer, seconded by t- irth, that the bills be paid when mayor has been served with release of garnishment and clerk be instructed to issue the necessary warrants. Roll ,call showed unanimous vote for the motion. FOLLOWING iaARRANTS ISSUED: (-;later Dept.) Warrant x964, favor H. N. Shaer., balance due for labor, 1 -85.00 If m965 It M. L. Driscoll, settlement of garnishment of Shad 40.00 1930 BUDGET: Council proceeded to consider the budget with following results: Street Dept.: added item of $500, to labor allowance for pruning trees, making total of Street Dept. X11405.00 Police Dept., added $125. to medical aid and industrial insurance; also added X900.00 to cover the cost of a ford or similar car, making total of budget N7500.00. Y[iscellaneous items: Added3t to Uity .Lighting 9500.00 for operation of additional lights; also added an item of �1500, as capital outlay for dxft making extensions to the lighting system. Rikvised total for i:iiscellaneous items was set at = 18830.00. Bonds w"; Interest: Added -an item of X150.00 to pay interest on Light Construction Warrants until such time as they are fronded into bonds; added a levy of one mill, 4j>1758. to create a sinking fund for the proposed cluster light bonds. This made new total of bonds and interests 110195.00., Total amount of preliminary budget -as revised, for Current Lxpense items, etc. (exclusive of Water Dept.) was sept at 156083.69 43 RESOLUTION ADOPTED: Fol 177ing resolution adopting the preliminary budget 7 was read and motion made by Partch, seconded by Davis, that it be adopted; carried on roll call unanimously: "WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Pasco, Washington, met in regular session on ttm Tuesday, the 3rd day of September, 1929, to consider the preliminary budget for the City of Pasco for the yeax 1930, and having made such revisions as deemed advisable in said budget as submitted by the City Clerk of said city of Pasco, "NOW, THEREFORE, BE IS RESOLVED, that the preliminary budget so considered be and the same is hereby ordered .placed on file for the information of any tax payer who may call at the office of the City clerk for information concerning same, or for copies thereof, and "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City of Pasco, give due notice that said preliminary budget is on file and that the City Council will meet on ?:-Ionday, the 7th day of October, 1929, at the hour of eight o'clock P.1d. at the City. Hall in the uity of Pasco, for the puxpose of fixing the final budget and making tax levies in accordance therewith; that the City Clerk cause such notice to be published once each week for two consecutive weeks immediately following the adoption of this resolution." CHIEF OF POLICE APPOINT11ENT : Motion made by Partch, seconded by I:Ieyer, that the matter of confirmation of A. Schultz as chief of police be postponed until the ne:�t meeting. Roll call ordered and showed following: Ayes, McGee, inleyer, Partch and Wirth; -does, Davis and Sargent; motion carried.
