ROLL CALL: Pursuant to agreement, the, council..met in an adjourned session with all members present and_ Mayor Gray presiding. LICENSES: Applications for licenses were submitted for the following and granted upon unanmmous vote of the council: Boucher Shores, carnival; E. J. Reynolds, Pasco Hotel, restaurant and s6ftdrinks; LibertyTheatre and Bungalow dance hall. VIATER MANAGER ASKED XERIVIISSI ON 'TO PURCHASE 40 additional Trident water meters to replace worn out equipment; motion made by IyICGee, seconded by Wirth, that Mater 1%,Ianager be authorized to make the purchase. Roll call showed all voting for the motion. Cormunication read from Geo. 0. Beardsley, Prosser, notifying the city that the franchige granted to R. E. Combs, had been assigned to the N. 'tial. Natural Gas Co. CLUSTER LIGHTS: Communication read from Tinling & Powell advising that they would furnish Olympis Jr. light units with Nepa.ge McKenny poles at the same price they had bid. Communication read from the Nepage PicKenny Co. quoting revised bids for installing lights. Communication read from Cox Investment Uo., stating that they would furnish a $10000-00 bond to cover defects in workmanship and material. 171otion made by Anderson, seconded by Partch, that the bids of J. C. Roberts, Hudson Elactric Store, Empire Electric Co., and 'Tinling & Powell be rejected and their checks be returned to them. Roll call showed.all voting for the motion. Partch moved, seconded by 'Wirth, that the midnight arrangement with double circuit'be adopted; roll call showed all voting for the motion. Davis called attention to supplementary bid submitted by J. C. Roberts and said he was in favor of.it; then made a motion, seconded by Sargent, that all bids be rejected and bids be readvertised for; lost five to two on roll call as follows: Ayes, Davis and Sargent; Noes, Anderson, 41cGee, Meyer, Partch and Ylirth. Motion was thereupon made by Partch, duly seconded by girth, that the bid of 'the I:1oss Construction Uo.,. amounting to $12,405.00 be .accepted; that the mayor be authorized to enter into a contract with the "floss Construction Co., and that the s of unsuccessful bidders be returned to them. Motion .carried five to two as follows': Ayes, Anderson, i1IcGee, I:Ieyer, Partch and iTirth; Noes, Davis and Sargent. In voting No, Davis stated that the reason he was voting against the motion was because he did not like .glassware it was proposed to use.
